¹³ When Jesus came to the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that the Son of man is?

²⁰ And Jesus said to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head.

⁶ But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins, (then he said to the paralytic,) Arise, take up your mat, and go to your house.

⁸ For the Son of man is Lord of the sabbath.

³² And whoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in the world to come.

⁴⁰ For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

³⁷ He answered them, He who sows the good seed is the Son of man;

⁴¹ The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and those who do iniquity;

²¹ Then Jesus went from there, and departed to the districts of Tyre and Sidon.

³¹ When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

²⁷ And Jesus went out, with his disciples, to the villages of Caesarea Philippi: and on the way he asked his disciples, saying to them, Who do men say that I am? ²⁸ And they answered, John the Baptist: but some say, Elijah; and others, One of the prophets. ²⁹ And he said to them, But who do you say that I am? And Peter answered and said to him, You are the Christ.

³⁸ Therefore, whoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

⁴⁵ For even the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.

¹⁸ And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, Who do the people say that I am? ¹⁹ They answered, John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others say that one of the old prophets has risen again. ²⁰ He said to them, But who do you say that I am? Peter answered, The Christ of God.

⁵¹ And he said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, You shall see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

¹⁴ And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up:

²⁷ And has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of man.

³⁴ The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that the Christ abides forever: and how is it that you say, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

⁵⁶ And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

³⁸ How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power: how he went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil; for God was with him.

¹⁴ Since then, as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he himself also partook of the same; that through death he might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil; ¹⁵ And deliver those who through fear of death were all their lives subject to bondage. ¹⁶ For truly he does not help angels; but he helps the descendants of Abraham. ¹⁷ Therefore, in all things he had to be made like his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people. ¹⁸ For since he himself has suffered in being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
