⁶⁵ And he said, Therefore I said to you, that no one can come to me, unless it is granted to him by the Father.

²⁷ John answered, A man can receive nothing, unless it has been given to him from heaven.

³⁷ All those whom the Father gives me shall come to me; and he who comes to me I will by no means cast out.

⁴⁴ No man can come to me, unless the Father who sent me draws him: and I will raise him up on the last day. ⁴⁵ It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught by God. Therefore, every man who has heard, and has learned from the Father, comes to me.

¹⁶ And I have other sheep, which are not of this fold: I must bring them also, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

²⁶ But you do not believe, because you are not my sheep. ²⁷ My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

³⁷ But though he had done so many miraculous signs before them, yet they did not believe in him: ³⁸ That the word spoken by Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, Lord, who has believed our report? and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? ³⁹ Therefore they could not believe, because as Isaiah also said, ⁴⁰ He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, and turn to me, that I should heal them. ⁴¹ These things Isaiah said because he saw his glory and spoke of him.

⁸ For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: ⁹ Not because of works, lest any man should boast.

²⁹ For to you it is granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for his sake;

¹⁴ And the grace of our Lord overflowed for me, along with the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

²⁵ In gentleness correcting those who oppose him; that God might grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth;

³ For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, slaves to various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy; hated, and hating one another. ⁴ But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared, ⁵ He saved us, not because of works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing by the Holy Spirit; ⁶ Whom he poured out upon us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; ⁷ That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs, having the hope of eternal life.

² Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

¹⁶ Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. ¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. ¹⁸ By his own will he brought us forth with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures.
