Galatians 4:21-31

21 Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave woman, the other by a free woman. 23 He who was born by the slave woman was born according to the flesh; but the son born by the free woman was through the promise. 24 These things are an allegory: for these women are the two covenants; the one from mount Sinai, who bears children into bondage; this is Hagar. 25 For this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, which is in bondage with her children. 26 But the Jerusalem which is above is free, and she is our mother. 27 For it is written, Rejoice, you who are barren and bear no children; break forth and shout, you who are not in the pangs of birth: for the desolate woman has many more children than she who has a husband. 28 Now we, brethren, like Isaac, are the children of promise. 29 But as it was then, he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now. 30 Nevertheless, what does the scripture say? Cast out the slave woman and her son: for the son of the slave woman shall not be an heir with the son of the free woman. 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.

Hebrews 7:1-10

1 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; 2 And to him Abraham gave a tenth part of everything. He is first, by interpretation of his name, King of righteousness, and after that is also King of Salem, which is, King of peace. 3 He is without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but like the Son of God, he remains a priest continually. 4 Now consider how great this man was: to him even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils. 5 And truly, those who are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment in the law to take tithes from the people, that is, from their brethren, though these also come out of the loins of Abraham: 6 But he whose descent is not traced from them received a tithe from Abraham, and blessed him who had the promises. 7 And without any dispute, the lesser is blessed by the greater. 8 And here, men who die receive tithes; but there, they are received by him of whom it is witnessed that he lives. 9 And, one might even say, Levi, who receives tithes, payed tithes through Abraham. 10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchizedek met him.
