⁴² And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus saw him, he said, You are Simon the son of John: you shall be called Cephas, which translated means, Peter.

² Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

¹⁷ And Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah: for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. ¹⁸ And I say also to you, That you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

¹⁶ Simon, whom he called Peter;

⁸ When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

¹⁴ Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,

⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and said of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! ⁴⁸ Nathanael said to him, How do you know me? Jesus answered and said to him, Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.

²⁴ But Jesus did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all men, ²⁵ And needed no one to testify about man: for he himself knew what was in man.

⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? ⁷¹ He spoke of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for it was he, one of the twelve, who would betray him.

¹⁸ I do not speak of all of you: I know whom I have chosen: but it is that the scripture may be fulfilled, He who eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.

² Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples were together.

¹⁵ So when they had eaten, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these? He said to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. He said to him, Feed my lambs. ¹⁶ He said to him a second time, Simon, son of John, do you love me? He said to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. He said to him, Tend my sheep. ¹⁷ He said to him a third time, Simon, son of John, do you love me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Do you love me? And he said to him, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my sheep.

¹² What I mean to say is that every one of you says, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

²² Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;

⁵ Do we not have the right to take along a believing wife, as do the other apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?

⁵ And that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve:

⁹ And when James, Cephas, and John, who were reputed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship; that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised.
