¹⁰ For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget the work and love which you have shown for his name's sake in having ministered to the saints, as you continue to do.

⁴² And whoever shall give to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink because he is my disciple, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.

³⁵ For I was hungry, and you gave me food: I was thirsty, and you gave me drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in: ³⁶ Naked, and you clothed me: I was sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me. ³⁷ Then the righteous shall answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you? or thirsty, and give you drink? ³⁸ When did we see you a stranger, and take you in? or naked, and clothe you? ³⁹ Or when did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you? ⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, as you have done it to one of the least of these, my brethren, you have done it to me.

⁴¹ For whoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you belong to Christ, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.

²⁰ Truly, truly, I say to you, He who receives whomever I send receives me; and he who receives me receives him who sent me.

⁴⁴ And all who believed were together, and had all things in common; ⁴⁵ And they sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all men, as every man had need.

³⁴ Nor were any among them lacking: for as many as owned land or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, ³⁵ And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made to each according to his need.

³⁶ Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which translated is Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and acts of charity. ³⁷ And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died; and when they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room. ³⁸ And since Lydda was near to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent to him two men, urging him to come to them and not delay. ³⁹ Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper room: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

⁴ And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said to him, Your prayers and your alms have come up as a memorial before God.

³¹ And said, Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your alms are remembered by God.

²⁹ Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren who lived in Judaea:

⁴ God forbid: let God be true, even if every man is a liar; as it is written, That you might be justified in your words, and might overcome when you are judged. ⁵ But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? That God is unrighteous who takes vengeance? (I speak as a man)

¹³ Contributing to the saints who are in need; practicing hospitality.

²⁵ But now I go to Jerusalem to minister to the saints. ²⁶ For it has pleased those of Macedonia and Achaia to make a contribution for the poor among the saints who are at Jerusalem. ²⁷ It has truly pleased them to do this; and indeed they are indebted to them. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is to minister to them in material things.

⁴ Love is patient, and is kind; love does not envy; love does not boast, and is not arrogant; ⁵ It is not rude, does not insist on its own way, is not easily provoked, it keeps no account of wrongs suffered; ⁶ It does not rejoice in injustice, but rejoices in the truth; ⁷ Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

¹ Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have directed the churches of Galatia, so you do also. ² Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay aside and save something, as he has prospered, that there need be no collections when I come. ³ And when I come, whomever you shall approve I will send with letters, to take your gift to Jerusalem.

¹ And now, brethren, we want you to know of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; ² For during a great test of affliction, the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty overflowed in a wealth of liberality. ³ For I bear witness that they gave according to their ability, yea, and beyond their ability, and of their own accord; ⁴ Begging us most insistently that we would allow them the privilege of taking part in this service to the saints. ⁵ And this they did, not as we expected, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and to us by the will of God. ⁶ So we urged Titus, since he had already begun, that he would also finish this gracious work among you. ⁷ Therefore, as you excel in everything, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all earnestness, and in your love for us, see that you excel in this gracious work as well. ⁸ I do not speak this as a commandment, but to use the zeal of others to test the sincerity of your own love. ⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that through his poverty you might become rich.

¹ Now regarding this ministry to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:

¹¹ You will be enriched in everything, so you can be generous, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. ¹² For the performance of this service not only supplies the wants of the saints, but also overflows in many thanksgivings to God. ¹³ Because of the proof given by this service, they will glorify God because of your obedience to the gospel of Christ, which you profess, and for your liberal contribution to them, and to all; ¹⁴ And in their prayers, their hearts will go out to you because of the surpassing grace of God in you. ¹⁵ Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift.

⁶ For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; but faith which works through love.

¹³ For, brethren, you have been called to liberty; only do not use your liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but in love serve one another.

¹⁰ Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

¹⁶ For even in Thessalonica you more than once sent help to provide for my needs. ¹⁷ Not because I desire a gift: but I desire the fruit that increases to your credit. ¹⁸ But I have received all, and abound: I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and well-pleasing to God.

¹⁷ And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

³ Always remembering your work of faith, and labour of love, and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of our God and Father;

⁶ It is a righteous thing for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you; ⁷ And to give rest to you who are afflicted, along with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire,

¹⁸ They are to do good, that they may be rich in good works, generous and willing to share;

¹⁷ But when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me. ¹⁸ May the Lord grant that he will find mercy from the Lord on that day. You know very well in how many ways he ministered to me at Ephesus.

⁸ Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me on that day: and not only to me, but also to all those who have longed for his appearing.

⁵ Because I hear of your love and faith, which you have toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all the saints; ⁶ And I pray that the sharing of your faith may promote the knowledge of every good thing which is ours in Christ Jesus. ⁷ For we have great joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by you, brother.

¹⁶ Do not forget to do good and to share: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

¹⁵ If a brother or sister is without clothing, and destitute of daily food, ¹⁶ And one of you says to him, Depart in peace, be warmed and filled; yet you do not give him the things which are necessary for the body; of what benefit is that? ¹⁷ Even so faith, if it does not have works, is dead, being alone.

⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death. ¹⁵ Whoever hates his brother is a murderer: and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. ¹⁶ By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. ¹⁷ But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? ¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word or in speech; but in deed and in truth.
