² For the gospel was preached to us, as well as to them: but the word preached did not benefit them, because it was not combined with faith in those who heard it.

²⁶ God, having raised up his servant, sent him first to bless you, by turning every one of you away from your iniquities.

⁴⁶ Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should have first been spoken to you: but seeing that you thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

²⁵ For circumcision is truly of value, if you keep the law: but if you are a breaker of the law, your circumcision has becomes uncircumcision.

¹⁶ But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our report? ¹⁷ So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

³ And if I give all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

⁸ And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles through faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, In you shall all nations be blessed.

¹³ You know it was because of infirmity of the flesh that I first preached the gospel to you.

⁵ For our gospel came to you not in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and with full conviction. You know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

¹³ For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because, when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which performs its work in you who believe.

¹² That all those might be condemned who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in unrighteousness. ¹³ But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth:

⁸ For bodily exercise is of some value: but godliness is of value in all things, having promise in this life, and in that which is to come.

¹² Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, leading you to turn away from the living God.

¹⁸ And to whom did he swear that they should not enter his rest, but to those who disobeyed? ¹⁹ So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

⁶ Therefore, since it remains that some must enter in, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter in because of unbelief:

⁶ But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he who comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.

²¹ Therefore, lay aside all filthiness and the wickedness that is so abundant, and receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

¹² It was revealed to them that they did not serve themselves, but you, in the things which have now been made known to you by those who preached the gospel to you through the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven; things into which angels desire to look.
