²³ And when they had appointed a day, many came to him in his lodging; to whom he explained and testified of the kingdom of God, trying to persuade them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning until evening.

²⁶ Was it not necessary for the Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? ²⁷ And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them all the things concerning himself in the scriptures.

⁴⁴ He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled which are written about me in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms.

³⁴ Jesus said to them, My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to finish his work.

³⁵ Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at the same scripture, preached Jesus to him.

² And Paul, as his manner was, went in to them, and for three sabbath days reasoned with them from the scriptures, ³ Explaining and proving, that Christ needed to suffer, and to rise again from the dead; and saying, this Jesus, whom I preach to you, is the Christ.

⁴ And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

²⁸ For he mightily refuted the Jews, and that publicly, showing by the scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.

⁸ And he went into the synagogue, and spoke boldly for the space of three months, reasoning and persuading them about the kingdom of God.

⁹ And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep: and as Paul kept talking, he was overcome by sleep, and fell down from the third floor, and was taken up dead. ¹⁰ And Paul went down, and bent over him, and embraced him saying, Do not trouble yourselves; for his life is in him. ¹¹ When Paul came up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, he talked a long while, even until the break of day, then he departed.

⁶ And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers:

²² Having obtained help from God, I continue to this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying nothing other than what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: ²³ That Christ would suffer, and that he would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the people, and to the Gentiles.
