³⁰ Those times of ignorance God overlooked; but now he commands all men everywhere to repent:

² And saying, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

¹⁷ From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

¹⁵ And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent and believe the gospel.

¹⁹ Therefore repent, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;

¹⁸ When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then God has also granted to the Gentiles the repentance that leads to life.

¹⁶ In times past he allowed all nations to walk in their own ways;

²³ For as I passed by, and beheld the objects of your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, what you worship as unknown, this I declare to you.

²¹ Testifying both to the Jews, and to the Greeks, of repentance toward God, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ I will deliver you from the people, and from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, ¹⁸ To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and an inheritance along with those who are sanctified by faith in me. ¹⁹ Wherefore, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision: ²⁰ But declared first to those of Damascus, then at Jerusalem, and throughout all the regions of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and perform deeds worthy of repentance.

²⁸ And as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper.

⁴ Or do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience; not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

²³ For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;

²⁵ Whom God has set forth to be an atoning sacrifice through faith in his blood. He did this to declare his righteousness, for in the forbearance of God, he passed over sins of the past;

¹⁰ For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation and leaves no regret: but the sorrow of the world produces death.

¹⁷ This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as other Gentiles walk, in the futility of their minds, ¹⁸ Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their hearts: ¹⁹ Who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to licentiousness, greedy to practice all kinds of uncleanness. ²⁰ But you did not learn Christ that way; ²¹ If indeed you have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus, ²² Then put off the old man, which belongs to your former life, which is corrupt through deceitful lusts; ²³ And be renewed in the spirit of your minds; ²⁴ And put on the new man, who, in the likeness of God, is created in true righteousness and holiness. ²⁵ Therefore, putting away lying, let every man speak the truth with his neighbour: for we are members of one another. ²⁶ Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down upon your wrath: ²⁷ Give no opportunity to the devil. ²⁸ Let him who stole, steal no more: but rather let him labour, doing with his hands that which is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need. ²⁹ Let no corrupt words proceed out of your mouth, but only that which is good for edifying, that it may impart grace to the hearers. ³⁰ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you have been sealed for the day of redemption. ³¹ Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and quarreling, and slander, be put away from you, along with all types of malice: ³² And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ has forgiven you.

⁶ Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. ⁷ Therefore, do not be partakers with them. ⁸ For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord: walk as children of light;

¹¹ For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, ¹² Teaching us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires, and live sensibly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

¹⁴ Live as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the lusts of your former ignorance: ¹⁵ But as he who has called you is holy, so be holy in all your conduct;

³ For the time past was sufficient for doing the things the Gentiles desire to do: living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, revelling, carousing, and abominable idolatries.
