¹³ And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

²⁹ And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: ³⁰ And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. ³¹ And the second is this, You shall love your neighbour as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.

¹³ Those on the rock are the ones, who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; but they have no root; they believe for a while, but in time of temptation fall away. ¹⁴ And the seed which fell among thorns are those, who, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity. ¹⁵ But the seed on the good ground are those, who in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

²⁷ And he answered, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbour as yourself.

³² But I have prayed for you, that your faith will not fail: and when you have turned back, strengthen your brethren.

⁴ And perseverance, character; and character, hope: ⁵ And hope does not disappoint; because the love of God has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

²⁴ For we are saved by this hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what man hopes for what he sees? ²⁵ But if we hope for what we do not see, then we wait for it with patience.

¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁴ If any man's work remains, which he has built upon it, he shall receive a reward.

¹ Now regarding things offered to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.

³ But if any man loves God, he is known by him.

¹ If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become a noisy gong, or a clanging cymbal. ² And if I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so that I can remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. ³ And if I give all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. ⁴ Love is patient, and is kind; love does not envy; love does not boast, and is not arrogant; ⁵ It is not rude, does not insist on its own way, is not easily provoked, it keeps no account of wrongs suffered; ⁶ It does not rejoice in injustice, but rejoices in the truth; ⁷ Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ⁸ Love never fails: but where there are prophecies, they shall pass away; where there are tongues, they shall cease; where there is knowledge, it shall vanish away.

¹ Follow after love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

¹⁴ Let all that you do be done in love.

¹⁰ For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive what is due him for the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

¹⁵ And he died for all, that those who live should not henceforth live for themselves, but for him who died for them, and rose again.

⁶ For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; but faith which works through love.

¹³ For, brethren, you have been called to liberty; only do not use your liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but in love serve one another. ¹⁴ For all the law is fulfilled in one command; You shall love your neighbour as yourself. ¹⁵ But if you bite and devour one another, take heed that you are not consumed by one another. ¹⁶ This I say, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the desires of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are in conflict with one another: so that you cannot do the things that you wish. ¹⁸ But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. ¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are obvious; they are; sexual immorality, impurity, licentiousness, ²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strife, jealousy, fits of rage, selfishness, dissensions, factions, ²¹ Envy, drunkenness, orgies, and the like: of which I forewarn you, as I have also warned you in the past, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. ²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and in all discernment;

⁵ Because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you have already heard in the word of truth, the gospel;

²⁷ To whom God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the riches of the glory of this mystery; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

¹⁴ And above all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.

⁸ But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

⁵ Now the aim of this commandment is love from a pure heart, and a good conscience, and a sincere faith:

⁷ For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of self-discipline.

¹¹ And we desire that every one of you show the same diligence in realizing the full assurance of hope until the end:

¹⁹ This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, which enters within the veil;

³⁵ Therefore, do not cast away your confidence, which has a great reward.

³⁹ But we are not of those who draw back to destruction; but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

²¹ Who through him believe in God, who raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

¹⁰ He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.

¹⁴ I have written to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.

²⁴ As for you, let that abide in you which you have heard from the beginning. If that which you have heard from the beginning shall abide in you, you shall also abide in the Son, and in the Father.

³ And every man who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

⁹ No one who is born of God practices sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and every one who loves is born of God, and knows God. ⁸ He who does not love does not know God; for God is love. ⁹ In this was the love of God revealed among us, that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ¹² No man has seen God at any time, but if we love one another, God abides in us, and his love is perfected in us. ¹³ By this we know that we abide in him, and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. ¹⁴ And we have seen and testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. ¹⁵ Whoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love; and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. ¹⁷ In this is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so we are in this world. ¹⁸ There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has to do with punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.

¹ Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one who loves the parent also loves the child. ² By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. ³ For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not burdensome. ⁴ For everyone who is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith. ⁵ Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

⁴ I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in truth, just as we have been commanded by the Father. ⁵ And now I urge you, lady, not as though I were writing a new commandment to you, but the one which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another. ⁶ And this is love, that we walk in obedience to his commandments. This is the commandment you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in love.
