⁴⁰ and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it up in three days, save thyself, if thou art the Son of God, and come down from the cross.

³ And the tempter came and said to him, If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones become loaves of bread.

⁶ and saith to him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down; for it is written, "He will give his angels charge concerning thee; and in their hands they will bear thee up, that thou mayst not dash thy foot against a stone."

⁴ A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and no sign will be given to it, but the sign of Jonah. And he left them and went away.

⁶¹ and said, This man affirmed, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it within three days.

⁶³ But Jesus was silent. And the highpriest answering said to him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son of God. ⁶⁴ Jesus saith to him, I am. Moreover I say to you, Henceforth ye will see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.

⁴² He saved others, cannot he save himself? He is the king of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in him.

⁵⁴ And the centurion and they who with him were watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake, and what was taking place, were exceedingly afraid, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

²⁹ lest haply when he hath laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, all that behold begin to make sport of him, ³⁰ saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

³¹ But he said to him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, they will not be persuaded, though one should rise from the dead.

¹⁹ Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. ²⁰ Then said the Jews, Fortysix years was this temple in building; and wilt thou raise it up in three days? ²¹ But he spoke of the temple of his body. ²² When therefore he had risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had spoken.

¹⁰ And they that dwell upon the earth will rejoice over them, and make merry, and will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwelt on the earth.
