³ And as he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when will these things be? and what will be the signs of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

¹⁰ And the disciples came and said to him, Why dost thou speak to them in parables? ¹¹ He answered and said, Because to you it hath been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven; but to them it hath not been given.

³⁶ Then he sent the multitudes away, and went into the house. And his disciples came to him, saying, Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.

³⁹ the enemy that sowed them is the Devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are angels. ⁴⁰ As therefore the tares are gathered up and burned with fire, so will it be at the end of the world.

⁴⁹ So will it be at the end of the world. The angels will come forth, and separate the wicked from among the righteous,

¹² Then come the disciples, and say to him, Dost thou know that the Pharisees were offended, when they heard that saying?

¹⁹ Then the disciples came to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast it out?

¹ And when they drew near to Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples,

²⁷ For as the lightning cometh from the east, and shineth even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of man.

³² And from the figtree learn its parable. When its branch hath now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that summer is near. ³³ So also, when ye see all these things, know ye that he is near, at the doors.

³⁷ But as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of man.

³⁹ and knew not, until the flood came, and took them all away, so also will be the coming of the Son of man.

⁴³ But be sure of this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken through.

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things, whatever I have commanded you. And, lo! I am with you always, unto the end of the world.

³ And as he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, ⁴ Tell us, when will these things be? and what will be the sign when all these things are about to be accomplished?

⁷ And they asked him, saying, Teacher, when then will these things be? and what will be the sign when these things are about to come to pass?

²¹ Peter, seeing him, saith to Jesus, Lord, and how will it be with him? ²² Jesus saith to him, If it be my will that he remain till I come, what is it to thee? Follow thou me.

⁷ But he said to them, It belongeth not to you to know times or seasons, which the Father appointed by his own authority.

¹ But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, there is no need of writing to you; ² for ye yourselves know full well, that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. ³ When they are saying, Peace and safety; then doth sudden destruction come upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. ⁴ But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you as a thief; ⁵ for ye all are sons of light, and sons of the day; we are not of the night, nor of darkness. ⁶ Let us not sleep, then, as others, but let us watch and be sober. ⁷ For they that sleep, sleep in the night; and they that are drunken, are drunken in the night; ⁸ but let us, as we are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation; ⁹ for God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁰ who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should together live with him. ¹¹ Wherefore, encourage one another, and edify one another, as indeed ye are doing.

²⁶ for then must he have suffered many times since the foundation of the world; but now once in the end of the world he hath appeared, to put away sin by means of his sacrifice.
