³⁹ And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promised blessing,

²³ And turning to the disciples, he said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye are seeing. ²⁴ For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which ye are seeing, and saw them not; and to hear the things which ye are hearing, and heard them not.

¹³ These all died in faith, not having received the promised blessings, but having seen them from afar, and greeted them, and having professed that they were strangers and sojourners on the earth.

¹² to whom it was revealed, that not to themselves, but to you, they were ministering the things, which have now been announced to you by them that have brought the glad tidings to you by the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.
