¹ The elder to Gaius the beloved, whom I love in truth.

²⁹ And the city was filled with confusion; and they rushed with one accord into the theatre, having seized Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Pauls companions in travel.

⁴ And there accompanied him as far as Asia, Sopater, son of Pyrrhus, a Beroean; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.

²³ Gaius my host, and the host of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the treasurer of the city saluteth you, and Quartus, the brother.

This is the commandment, as ye have heard from the beginning, that ye should walk in it. ⁷ For many deceivers went out into the world, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ coming in the flesh; this is the deceiver and the antichrist. ⁸ Look to yourselves, that ye lose not the things which ye wrought, but receive a full reward. ⁹ Whoever goeth beyond, and abideth not in the teaching of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the teaching, he hath both the Son and the Father. ¹⁰ If any one cometh to you, and bringeth not this teaching, receive him not into your house, and do not bid him good speed. ¹¹ For he that biddeth him good speed taketh part in his evil deeds. ¹² Having many things to write to you, I would not write with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you, and to speak face to face, that our joy may be full. ¹³ The children of thy elect sister salute thee.
