¹ But know this, that in the last days grievous times will come.

³ Let no one deceive you in any manner; for [that day will not come] unless the apostasy shall have come first and the man of sin have been revealed, the son of perdition; ⁴ he that opposeth and exalteth himself above every one that is called God, or worthy of worship, so that he sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself to be God. ⁵ Do ye not remember, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? ⁶ And now ye know what restraineth, in order that he may be revealed in his own time. ⁷ For the mystery of lawlessness is already working; only there is one who now restraineth, until he be taken out of the way; ⁸ and then will the lawless one be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will consume with the breath of his mouth, and destroy with the manifestation of his coming; ⁹ [he,] whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power, and signs, and wonders of falsehood, ¹⁰ and in all deceit of unrighteousness for those who are perishing; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this cause God sendeth them a working of delusion, that they may believe the falsehood; ¹² that they may all be judged, who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

¹ Now the Spirit saith expressly, that in the latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons, ² through the hypocrisy of speakers of lies, who bear a brand on their own conscience, ³ forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from food which God created to be received with thanksgiving, for those who believe and know the truth.

³ For the time will come, when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own desires will they heap to themselves teachers; because they have itching ears;

³ knowing this first, that there will come in the last days open scoffers following their own lusts,

¹⁸ My children, the last time is come; and as ye have heard that Antichrist is coming, even now there are many antichrists; whereby we know that the last time is come.

¹⁷ But do ye, beloved, remember the words which were before spoken by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

¹ And when be had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about haft an hour. ² And I saw the seven angels who stand before God; and there were given to them seven trumpets. ³ And another angel came, and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given to him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. ⁴ And the smoke of the incense went up with the prayers of the saints before God out of the angels hand. ⁵ And the angel took the censer, and filled it from the fire of the altar, and cast it upon the earth; and there followed thunders, and lightnings, and voices, and an earthquake. ⁶ And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. ⁷ And the first sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth; and the third part of the earth was burnt up, and the third part of the trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. ⁸ And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea; ⁹ and the third part of the sea became blood; and the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. ¹⁰ And the third angel sounded, and there fell from heaven a great star, burning as a torch, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters. ¹¹ And the name of the star is called Wormwood; and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. ¹² And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars, so that the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night in like manner. ¹³ And I saw, and heard an eagle flying in midheaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to those who dwell on the earth, by reason of the remaining voices of the trumpet of the three angels who are yet to sound!
