⁴ Concerning the eating of the things offered in sacrifice to idols, then, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one.

²⁹ Jesus answered, The first is, "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord;

¹⁵ and saying, Men, why do ye these things? We also are men of like nature with you, bringing to you glad tidings, that ye may turn from these vanities to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea, and all things that are therein;

²⁶ and ye see and hear, that this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, not only of Ephesus, but of almost all Asia, saying, that those are not gods, which are made with hands.

¹ Now concerning the things offered in sacrifice to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but love edifieth;

⁶ yet to us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we to him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through him. ⁷ But there is not in all men this knowledge; for some, with a conscience directed toward the idol even now, eat of it as a thing offered in sacrifice to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.

¹⁰ For if any one see thee, who hast knowledge, at table in an idols temple, will not the conscience of him that is weak be emboldened to eat the things offered to idols?

¹⁹ What do I say then? That what is offered in sacrifice to idols is anything? Or that an idol is anything? ²⁰ Nay, but that what they sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God; and I would not that ye should have communion with demons.

⁶ one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.

¹⁷ Now to the King eternal, the imperishable, invisible, only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

⁵ For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

²⁵ to the only God our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, is glory, majesty, dominion and power, before all time, and now, and for ever. Amen.
