⁴ Jehovah on high is mightier than the noise of many waters. Yes he is mightier than the mighty waves of the sea.

¹¹ when I said: ‘This far you may come and no farther’; here is where your proud waves halt?

⁷ He stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the tumult of the peoples.

⁶ For who in the heavens is comparable to Jehovah? Who among the sons of the mighty is like Jehovah?

⁹ You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them.

⁸ But you, O Jehovah, are highly honored forever.

³ The Red Sea looked at this and ran away. The Jordan River turned back. ⁴ The mountains jumped like rams. The hills jumped like lambs. ⁵ Red Sea, why did you run away? Jordan River, what made you turn back?

²² »Do you not reverence (respect) me?« Asks Jehovah. »Do you not tremble [with awe] in my presence? I made the sand a boundary for the sea, a permanent barrier it cannot cross. Although the waves toss continuously, they cannot break through. Although they roar, they cannot cross it.

³⁷ A great windstorm came up and the waves came into the boat. ³⁸ He was in back of the boat sleeping on a cushion. They woke him. They said: »Master is it nothing to you that we are in danger of destruction?« ³⁹ He awoke from sleep and commanded the wind and sea. He commanded the sea to be at peace and rest. And he commanded the wind to go down and there was a great calm.
