³ When I called, you answered me. You made me bold. You strengthened me.

⁶ I called on Jehovah in my distress. I cried to my God for help. He heard my voice from his temple, and my cry for help reached his ears.

¹⁴ Hope (wait) (expect) (trust) in Jehovah and be strong. Let your heart be courageous. Yes, hope in Jehovah.

⁷ Jehovah is my strength and my shield. My heart trusted him, so I received help. My heart is triumphant and I thank him with my song.

¹¹ Jehovah will give power (strength) to his people. Jehovah will bless his people with peace (prosperity) (health) (safety).

⁴ I went to Jehovah for help. He answered me and rescued me from all my fears. ⁵ All who look to him will be radiant. Their faces will never be covered with shame. ⁶ The poor man called out. Jehovah heard him and saved him from all his troubles.

⁸ I cling to you. Your right hand supports (holds) me.

¹ ([Psalm of Asaph]) My cry goes to God! Indeed, I cry to God for help, and he listened to me. ² In the day of my trouble I sought Jehovah. My hand was stretched out in the night, and did not get tired. I refused to be comforted.

They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary! They will walk and not be faint.«

¹⁰ Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in his mighty strength.

¹⁰ After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will perfect, establish, and strengthen you.
