36 It was the duty of the Merarites to be in charge of the framework of the inner tent, the crossbars, posts, sockets, and all the equipment. They took care of these things.

15 »A framework out of acacia wood should be built for the inner tent. 16 »Each frame is to be fifteen feet long and twenty-seven inches wide. 17 »It should have two identical pegs. Make all the frames for the inner tent the same way. 18 »Make twenty frames for the south side of the inner tent. 19 »Provide forty silver sockets at the bottom of the twenty frames, two sockets at the bottom of each frame for the two pegs. 20 »Prepare twenty frames for the north side of the inner tent. 21 »Also forty silver sockets, two at the bottom of each frame. 22 »Prepare six frames for the far end, the west side. 23 »There should be two frames for each of the corners at the far end of the inner tent. 24 »Fasten these together at the bottom and tightly at the top by a single ring. Exodus 26:32

32 »Hang it on four pillars of acacia overlaid with gold. Their hooks should also be of gold, on four sockets of silver.

Exodus 26:37

37 »Make five pillars of acacia for the screen and overlay them with gold. Their hooks should also be of gold. Cast five sockets of bronze for them.

Exodus 27:9-19

9 »Make a courtyard for the tent (tabernacle). The south side of the courtyard (toward the Negeb) should be one hundred and fifty feet long and have curtains made out of fine linen yarn. 10 »Hang on them twenty posts set in twenty copper bases. The hooks and bands on the posts should be made of silver. 11 »The north side should be the same one hundred fifty feet long, with curtains on twenty posts set in twenty copper bases. The hooks and bands on the posts should be made of silver. 12 »The courtyard on the west side should be seventy-five wide and have curtains hung on ten posts set in ten bases. 13 »On the east end, facing the rising sun, the courtyard should also be seventy-five feet wide. 14 »One side of the entrance will be twenty-two and one half feet wide with curtains hung on three posts set in three bases. 15 »The other side will be the same. 16 »Use four more of these posts for the entrance. Hang on them an embroidered curtain of fine linen ten yards long and woven with blue, purple, and red wool. 17 »The curtains that surround the courtyard must be two and a half yards high and should be hung from the bronze posts with silver hooks and rods. 18 »The courtyard should be one hundred and fifty feet long, seventy-five feet wide, and seven and one half feet high. The curtains should be made of fine linen yarn and with copper bases. 19 »Regardless of how they are used all the things for the tent must be made of copper. Even the pegs for the tent and the courtyard must be made of copper.

Numbers 4:29-33

29 »Register the Merarites by families and households. 30 »Register all the men between the ages of thirty and fifty who are qualified to serve at the tent of meeting. 31 »These are their duties as they work at the tent of meeting: They will carry the framework for the inner tent, the crossbars, posts, and sockets, 32 the posts for the surrounding courtyard, the bases, pegs, and ropes. They must take care of all this equipment. Tell each man by name the things he will carry. 33 »This is what the Merarite families will do as they work at the tent of meeting. Ithamar, son of the priest Aaron, will be in charge of them.«

20 A framework for the inner tent was made out of acacia wood. 21 Each frame was fifteen feet long and twenty-seven inches wide. 22 Each had two identical pegs. They made all the frames for the inner tent this same way. 23 They made twenty frames for the south side of the inner tent. 24 Then they made forty silver sockets placed at the bottom of the twenty frames. There were two sockets at the bottom of each frame for the two pegs. 25 Twenty frames were also made for the north side of the inner tent. 26 Forty silver sockets were prepared with two at the bottom of each frame. 27 They made six frames for the far end, the west side. 28 They made two frames for each of the corners at the far end of the inner tent. 29 They were held together at the bottom and held tightly at the top by a single ring. Both corner frames were made this way. 30 There were eight frames with sixteen silver sockets. There were two at the bottom of each frame. 31 They also made crossbars out of acacia wood. Five were for the frames on one side of the inner tent, 32 five were for those on the other side, and five were for the frames on the far side of the inner tent, the west side. 33 The middle crossbar was made so that it ran from one end to the other, halfway up the frames. 34 They covered the frames with gold and made gold rings to hold the crossbars. They also covered the crossbars with gold.

Exodus 36:36

36 Four posts of acacia wood were prepared for it. They covered them with gold. They made gold hooks for the posts. They cast four silver bases for them.

Exodus 38:17-20

17 The bases for the posts were made of copper. The hooks and bands on the posts were made of silver. The tops of the posts were covered with silver. And the bands on all the posts of the courtyard were made of silver. 18 The screen for the entrance to the courtyard was made of violet, purple, and bright red yarn embroidered on fabric made from fine linen yarn. It was thirty feet long and seven and one half feet high, just like the curtains of the courtyard. 19 The screen hung on four posts set in four copper bases. The hooks and bands on the posts were made of silver. The tops of the posts were covered with silver. 20 The pegs for the tent and the surrounding courtyard were made of copper.

33 They brought everything to Moses: the inner tent, the outer tent and all its furnishings, the fasteners, frames, crossbars, posts, sockets,

8 He gave four wagons and eight oxen to the Merarites for the work they had to do under the direction of Ithamar, son of the priest Aaron.
