⁴ The oracle of him who hears the words of God and who sees the vision of the Almighty. Falling down, yet having his eyes open.

¹ The word of Jehovah came to Abram in a vision: »Do not be afraid, Abram; I am your shield. Your reward shall be very great.«

¹² As the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram, and a deep and terrifying darkness descended upon him.

⁶ He said: »Listen to my words: ‘When there are prophets of Jehovah among you, I make myself known to them in visions or speak to them in dreams.

²⁰ That night God came to Balaam and said: »If these men have come to summon you, go with them, but do only what I tell you.«

³¹ Then Jehovah let Balaam see the angel standing there with his sword. Balaam threw himself face down on the ground.

²⁴ He even took off his clothes as he prophesied in front of Samuel. He lay there naked all day and all night. The saying: »Is Saul one of the prophets?« came from there.

¹⁹ Once you spoke in vision to your godly ones. You said: »I have given help to one who is mighty. I have exalted one chosen from the people.«

²⁶ »The vision told about the evenings and mornings is true: but seal up the vision. It belongs to the future.« ²⁷ I, Daniel, fainted from exhaustion, and was sick for days. Then I rose up, and did the king's business. I wondered about the vision, but none understood it.
