¹⁸ »You are Peter (Greek: petros: piece of rock), and on this rock-mass (Greek: petra: mass of rock) (referring to Jesus) I will build my congregation. The entrance to the grave (Greek: Hades) will not have power to stop it.

¹⁷ ‘»I will certainly bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and the grains of sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of their enemies’ cities.

¹ They who trust in Jehovah are like Mount Zion. It is not shaken, but remains forever. ² As the mountains are all around Jerusalem, so Jehovah is all around his people from this time and forever.

⁵ Blessed is the man who has filled his quiver with them. He will not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the city gate.

⁷ Wisdom is too exalted (lofty) for a fool. He does not open his mouth at the gate.

⁶ He will be a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, a source of strength to those who repel the attack at the gate.

¹⁶ Therefore this is what The Sovereign Lord Jehovah says: »Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation. It is a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; whoever believes will not act hastily.

¹⁰ »I thought that in the prime of my life I would go down to the gates of the grave and be robbed of the rest of my life.

¹⁷ »Weapons forged against you will not prevail! You will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of Jehovah and this is their vindication from me,« declares Jehovah.

¹² ‘»Say to him: ‘Jehovah of Hosts says, »See here, the man whose name is the Branch (Sprout) (Shoot) (Bud). For he will branch out (sprout) from where he is and he will build the Temple of Jehovah. ¹³ »Yes, he will build the Temple of Jehovah. He will receive the glory, and will sit and rule upon his throne. He will be a priest upon his throne and the counsel of peace will be between the two offices.

² The following are the names of the twelve apostles (ambassadors of the good news) (messengers): first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

²³ »Will you, Capernaum, be exalted into heaven? You will go down into the grave. If the mighty works had been done in Sodom, which were done in you, it would have remained until this day.

¹⁷ »If he will not listen to them, let it come to the attention of the congregation. If he will not listen to the congregation, let him be to you as a heathen and a tax collector.

⁴² He took him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him, and said: »You are Simon the son of John: you will be called Cephas (meaning: Peter).«

⁴⁷ As they praised God, they had favor with all the people. God added to the congregation daily those being saved.

¹ Saul agreed to his death. There was at that time a great persecution against the congregation at Jerusalem. All but the apostles were scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria.

⁹ For we are fellow workers together with God. You are God's field under cultivation. You are God's building. ¹⁰ According to the grace of God that is given to me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let every man take heed how he builds. ¹¹ No other foundation can be laid than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

⁵⁵ »O death, where is your sting (power to hurt)? O grave, where is your victory?«

⁹ When they saw the grace that was given to me, James, Cephas (Peter) and John, they who were known to be pillars, gave to Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship. We were to go to the nations and they were to go to the people who are circumcised.

¹⁹ So then you are no longer strangers and aliens. You are fellow citizens with the holy ones and of the household of God. ²⁰ You are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets. Christ Jesus is the chief corner stone. ²¹ In him each building fits together and grows into a »holy Temple for Jehovah.« (Zechariah 6:12) ²² In Christ you are assembled together as a place for God’s Spirit to dwell.

¹⁰ It is the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known through the congregation and the rules and authorities in the heavenly places.

²⁵ Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the congregation and gave himself up for it. ²⁶ This is so he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word. ²⁷ So he will be able to present the congregation to himself as a glorious congregation, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing. It should be holy and without blemish.

³² This secret is great! I speak with regard to Christ and of the congregation.

¹⁸ He is the head of the body, the congregation. He is the beginning (commencement), the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence (first place).

³ He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses. This is because the builder of the house has more honor than the house. ⁴ Every house has a builder. God is the builder of all things. ⁵ if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the congregation of God?

¹⁵ though if I am delayed, so that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in the household of God, which is the congregation of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.

²⁸ Let us be thankful, because we will receive a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Let us be grateful and worship (serve) (intensely adore) God in a way that will please him, with reverence and awe.

¹⁵ The seventh angel blew his trumpet. There were great voices in heaven, saying: »The kingdom of the world has become our God’s, and his Christ will rule as king forever and ever.«

¹ I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. There was no more sea. ² Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. ³ Then I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying: »Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men. He will dwell with them and they will be his people! God will be with them, and be their God. ⁴ »God will wipe away all tears from their eyes. There will be no more death. There will be no more sorrow nor crying. There will be no more pain! The former things have passed away.«

¹⁴ The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
