²⁶ »‘Has any other human ever heard the only true God speaking from fire, as we have? And if they have, would they live to tell about it?

⁷ I will proclaim the decree of Jehovah: He said to me: »You are my Son. Today I have become your Father. (I have begotten you.)

² I thirst for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

²⁶ »I make a decree, that in all the dominion of my kingdom men tremble with respect before the God of Daniel. He is the living God, and steadfast forever! His kingdom will not be destroyed. His dominion will be even unto the end.

³ Satan, the Tempter, said to him: »If (since) you are the Son of God order these stones to turn into bread.«

³³ Those on the boat loved him intensely, saying: »Truly, you are the Son of God!«

⁵⁴ The centurion and those who were with him watching Jesus saw the earthquake. Filled with much fear of the things that were done, they proclaimed: »Truly, this was the Son of God!«

⁶³ Jesus said nothing. The high priest said to him: »I put you on oath, by the living God, that you will tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.«

⁶¹ But he kept quiet and said nothing. Again the high priest questioned him: »Are you the Christ, the son of the Holy One?«

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered: »Rabbi you are the Son of God. You are King of Israel.«

⁹ All those people speak about how you received us when we visited you, and how you turned away from idols to God, to serve the true and living God,

¹⁰ This is why we labor and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.

² He has in these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, through whom he made the ages (Greek: aion: ages of time, perpetuity, worlds, generations, human entities). ³ God’s Son is the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his being. He sustains all things by his powerful word. After Jesus purged our sins, he sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. ⁴ He has become better than the angels and has inherited a more excellent name than theirs. ⁵ To which of the angels did God ever say at any time: »You are my son; this day I have begotten you«? And again: »I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son«?

¹⁵ though if I am delayed, so that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in the household of God, which is the congregation of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.

³¹ It is a dreadful (terrible) thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

²² You have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads (thousands of thousands) of angels,

¹⁵ Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives with him, and he with God.

⁵ Who is the one who conquers (overcomes) (prevails over) the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

²⁰ We know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding. We know him that is true for we are in him who is true, [and] in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and everlasting life.
