He fell on the ground rolled around and foamed at the mouth. ²¹ Jesus asked his father: »How long has this been going on?« He said: »Since he was a child.« ²² Often it casts him into the fire and into the water to destroy him. If you can do anything have compassion on us and help us.

¹³ They shouted: »Jesus! Master! Have pity on us!«

¹³ »But the tax collector stood far away and would not lift up so much as his eyes to heaven. He beat his breast, saying: God, be merciful to me a sinner.

³⁸ He cried out: »Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!« ³⁹ They rebuked him and said he should keep quiet. But he cried out even more: »You son of David, have mercy on me!«

⁴¹ Others said: »This is the Christ.« But some asked: »Does the Christ come out of Galilee? ⁴² »Do the Scriptures say that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?«
