¹⁵ They went astray, forsaking the right way. They followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of wrongdoing. ¹⁶ He was rebuked for his own transgression. A beast of burden spoke with a man's voice and restrained (hindered) the madness of the prophet. ¹⁷ These are springs without water, and mists driven by a storm, for whom the gloom of darkness has been reserved.
