Isaiah 55:1 Cross References - NSB

¹ Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the water. You, who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.

¹ Boaz went to the public place in the town and sat down. When the kinsman-redeemer came along, the one he had mentioned, Boaz said: »Come here, and sit down.« He came and was seated.

¹ ([Sons of Korah]) As the deer desires the water brooks, so I desire you, O God. ² I thirst for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

¹ ([[Psalm of David] in the wilderness of Judah:]) O God, you are my God. At dawn I search for you. I thirst for you. My body longs for you in a dry, parched land where there is no water.

⁶ I stretch out my hands to you for I long for you, like a parched land.

²¹ She calls in the streets, in the opening of the gates: in the city she utters her words. She says: ²² »How long, you simple (stupid) (foolish) ones, will you love simplicity (foolishness) (stupidity)? The scoffers delight in scoffing. Fools hate knowledge! ²³ »Listen when I reprove you. I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make my words known to you.

⁴ »I call to you men. My voice is to the sons of man.

² (The Shulamite) »Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth. Your love is better than wine.

⁴ »Draw me away. (Daughters of Jerusalem) »We will run after you.« (The Shulamite) »The king brought me into his chambers.« (Daughters of Jerusalem) »We will be glad and rejoice in you. We will remember your love more than wine!« (The Shulamite) »They are right to love you.«

¹ (The Beloved) »I came to my garden, my sister, my spouse. I gathered my myrrh with my spice. I ate my honeycomb with my honey and drank my wine with my milk. Eat, O friends; drink, yes, drink abundantly, O beloved.«

³ »‘I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground. I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring. I will give blessing to your descendants.

³ For this is what Jehovah says: »You were sold for nothing, and without money you will be redeemed.«

¹⁷ »The poor and needy search for water, but there is none! Their tongues are parched with thirst. But I Jehovah will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. ¹⁸ »I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs.

⁴ We give money for a drink of water. We get our wood for a price.

¹⁸ »It will happen in that day that the mountains will drop sweet wine, and the hills will flow with milk. All the brooks of Judah will flow with water. A fountain will come forth from the house of Jehovah and water the valley of Shittim.

⁴ »I will heal their apostasy! I will love them freely for my anger has turned away from them.

⁶ »Flee from the land of the north,« said Jehovah. »I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heavens,« continued Jehovah.

¹⁵ »Jehovah of Hosts will defend them! They will devour and trample on the sling stones. They will drink and be boisterous with the wine. They will be filled like the sacrificial basins by the corners of the altar.

⁷ »They of Ephraim will be like a mighty man! Their heart will rejoice as if from wine. Their children will see it, and rejoice! Their heart will be glad in Jehovah. ⁸ »Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, and cast out demons. You received without paying, now give without being paid.

⁴⁴ »The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field. A man found the treasure and hid it again in the field. He is so filled with joy he sells everything he owns and buys the field.

²⁹ »I tell you, I shall not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.«

³ They ran out of wine. So the mother of Jesus said to him: »They have no wine.« ⁴ Jesus said to her: »Woman what have I to do with you? My hour has not arrived.« ⁵ His mother told the servants to do whatever he says. ⁶ Six stone water jars were placed there to honor purification rules of the Jews. Each contained more than twenty gallons. ⁷ Jesus said to them: »Fill the jars with water.« They filled them to the brim. ⁸ »Draw some out,« he said, »and take it to the master of the feast.« So they drew some out. ⁹ The master of the feast did not know about the water turned into wine. He tasted it and called the bridegroom. ¹⁰ He said to him: »Every man sets out the good wine first. When the men have drunk freely the lower quality wine is served. You have kept the good wine until now.«

¹⁰ Jesus answered: »If you know the gift of God and who asked you for a drink, you would have asked him to give you living water.« ¹¹ The woman said to him: »Sir, you do not have anything with which to draw water and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water? ¹² »Are you greater than our father Jacob? He gave us the well. He and his children and cattle drank from it.« ¹³ Jesus answered: »Whoever drinks from this water will thirst again. ¹⁴ »But whoever drinks from the water that I give him will never thirst. The water that I will give him will be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.«

³⁷ On the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and shouted in a loud voice: »If any man thirst let him come to me and drink. ³⁸ »Rivers of living water will flow from the innermost being of the man who believes in me. This is according to the scriptures.«

²⁴ being justified freely by his grace (as a gift) through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

² I fed you milk and not solid food. You were not able to receive it. You are not able now!

⁴ But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us, ⁵ even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ. For by grace (loving-kindness) you have been saved. ⁶ God raised us up with him and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places, with Christ Jesus. ⁷ So in the ages to come he, with Christ Jesus, might show the exceeding (surpassing) (exceptional) riches of his grace with kindness toward us. ⁸ By grace (Greek: charis, divine favor, loving-kindness) you have been saved through faith. It is not from you. It is the gift from God!

² Like newborn infants, long for the spiritual milk that is without deception to help you grow to salvation.

¹⁸ »'I counsel you to buy gold from me, gold purified by fire, so that you may be rich; and white clothing, so that you may be clothed. In this way the shame of your nakedness will not appear. And anoint your eyes with eye salve, so that you may see.

⁶ And he said to me: »It is done! I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him who thirsts from the fountain of the water of life freely.

¹ He showed me a pure river of water of life. It was clear as crystal and flowed out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

¹⁷ The Spirit and the bride say: »Come« And let him who hears say: »Come.« And let him who is thirsty come. And whoever will, let him drink the water of life freely.
