Isaiah 53:9 Cross References - NSB

⁹ He was buried like a criminal in a rich mans grave. He had done no wrong, nor was any deceit in his mouth.

¹ Here is my servant, whom I have strengthened. Here is the one I have chosen, with whom I am pleased. I have filled him with my Spirit, and he will bring justice to every nation. ² He will not shout or raise his voice or make loud speeches in the streets. ³ He will not break off a bent reed nor extinguish a flickering lamp. He will bring lasting justice to all.

⁵⁷ A disciple of Jesus named Joseph, a rich man from Arimathea, ⁵⁸ went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Pilate commanded that it be given to him. ⁵⁹ Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth. ⁶⁰ He laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut out of the rock. Then he rolled a great stone in front of the door of the tomb, and departed.

⁴³ Joseph of Arimathaea was a prominent council member who also was looking for the Kingdom of God. He boldly approached Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. ⁴⁴ Pilate wondered if he were already dead. So he summoned the centurion and asked him about the death. ⁴⁵ When the centurion confirmed it he granted the body to Joseph. ⁴⁶ He bought a linen cloth, and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth. Then he laid him in a tomb that had been cut out of a rock. He rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.

⁵⁰ Joseph was a member of the council and a good and righteous man. ⁵¹ He was from Arimathaea a city of the Jews and was looking for the kingdom of God. ⁵² He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. ⁵³ He took it down and wrapped it in a linen cloth. Then he laid him in a tomb that was carved in stone. No man had ever lain in this tomb.

³⁸ Joseph of Arimathaea was a disciple of Jesus. He approached Pilate secretly for fear of the Jews. He asked Pilate for permission to take away the body of Jesus. Pilate gave him permission. So he took the body away. ³⁹ Nicodemus also came with a mixture of myrrh and about a hundred pounds of aloes. Nicodemus is the one who came to Jesus at night. ⁴⁰ They prepared the body of Jesus for burial. They bound it in linen cloths with spices. This was the custom of the Jews. ⁴¹ There was a garden at the place where he was impaled. It contained a new tomb where no one had been buried. ⁴² They laid Jesus there because the Jews Preparation was close at hand.

⁴ He was buried, and he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

²¹ He made the one who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf. That way we might become the righteousness of God in him.

¹⁵ We do not have a high priest who is not able to sympathize with our infirmities (weaknesses). He was tested in all things like ourselves. Yet he was without sin!

²⁶ Such a high priest as this was suitable for us. He is holy, harmless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and higher than the heavens.

²² He committed no sin and deception was not found in him.

⁵ You know that he appeared to take away sins. There is no sin in him!
