¹⁵ Jacob blessed Joseph. He said: »May God, in whose presence my grandfather Abraham and my father Isaac walked, may this God who has been my shepherd all my life to this very day,

²² After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years and had other sons and daughters. ²³ Altogether, Enoch lived three hundred and sixty-five years. ²⁴ Enoch walked with God. Then he was no more, because God took (moved) him away.

⁹ This is the ACCOUNT OF NOAH. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time. He walked with God.

¹ Abram was ninety-nine years old. Jehovah appeared to him and said: »I am God Almighty. Walk before me and be blameless.

²⁰ She quickly emptied her jar into the water trough. Then she ran back to the well to draw more water. She drew enough for all his camels.

⁴ »Prepare a good-tasting meal for me. Prepare it the way I like it. Bring it to me to eat so that I will bless you before I die.«

³ »Almighty God will bless your marriage and give you many children. You will become the father of many nations!

²⁰ Jacob made a vow. He said: »If God will be with me and will watch over me on my trip and give me food to eat and clothes to wear,

²² »This stone I placed as a marker will be the house of God. I will certainly give you a tenth of everything you give me.«

¹⁶ »May the being who rescued me from all evil bless these boys! May they be called by my name and by the names of my grandfather Abraham and my father Isaac. May they have many children on the earth.«

²⁴ »His bow stayed steady! His arms remained limber because of the help of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the name of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,

²⁸ These are the twelve tribes of Israel. This is how Jacob blessed each of them.

¹ These are the blessings that Moses, the man of God, pronounced on the people of Israel before he died:

⁶ Solomon answered: »You always showed great love for my father David, your servant. He was good, loyal, and honest in his relation with you. You have continued to show him your great and constant love by giving him a son who today rules in his place.

⁸ I always keep Jehovah in front of me. When he is at my right hand (assisting me), I cannot be moved.

¹ ([Psalm of David]) Jehovah is my shepherd; I shall not want.

³ Trust Jehovah and do good things. Live in the land, and practice being faithful.

⁴ He redeems your life from ruin and crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercies. ⁵ He satisfies you with good; your youth is renewed like the eagles.

²⁴ There is nothing better for a man than to eat and drink, and delight in his work. This also I saw was from the hand of God. ²⁵ After all, who eats and who drinks better than I?

¹² The sleep of the workingman is pleasant, whether he eats little or much. However the full stomach of the rich man does not allow him to sleep.

¹⁸ This is what I have seen. It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink and enjoy the good of his labor. He labors under the sun all the days of his life. For God gives this to him as his allotment (inheritance).

⁷ All the labor of man is for his mouth and yet the appetite is not satisfied.

²¹ You will hear a voice behind you say: »This is the way. Walk in it,« whether it turns to the right or to the left.

¹⁶ This man will dwell on the heights. His refuge will be the mountain fortress. His bread will be supplied, and he will have water.

² »They will be spread out and exposed to the sun, the moon, and all the stars in the sky. These are the things that they had loved, served, gone after, sought, and worshiped. Their bones will not be gathered or buried, but they will become manure on the ground.

²⁵ »I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink. And do not worry about your body, what you will wear. Is life worth more than food? And is the body worth more than clothes? ²⁶ »Look at the birds of the sky, they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you worth more than they? ²⁷ »Can you live longer by worrying about it? ²⁸ »Why are you worried about clothing? Look at how the lilies of the field grow. They do not toil. They do not spin. ²⁹ »I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was dressed like these. ³⁰ »If God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, won’t he care for you even more? You of little faith! ³¹ »Do not worry! Do not say: ‘What shall we eat?’ or, ‘What shall we drink?’ or, ‘What shall we wear?’ ³² »All people go in search of these things. Your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. ³³ »Seek (desire) (require) (serve) first the kingdom of God and his righteousness [continuously] and all these things will be added to you. ³⁴ »Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have its own worries. Sufficient for each day is its own badness.

⁶ They were both righteous before God. They blamelessly obeyed all the commandments and ordinances of God (Greek: kurios: God).

¹² This is our pride and testimony of conscience. In holiness and Godly sincerity we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you. It was not by fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God.

³¹ Whether you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do everything to the glory of God.

⁶ You have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord. Now walk (live) in union with him.

¹² You should walk worthily of God, who called you into his own kingdom and glory.

⁶ Godliness with contentment is great gain. ⁷ We brought nothing into the world and we can carry nothing out. ⁸ We should be content with having food and covering. ⁹ Those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts. These draw men into ruin and destruction. ¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some by longing for it have been led away from the faith. They have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

²¹ By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph. He worshipped while leaning upon the top of his staff.
