Ephesians 2:9 Cross References - NSB

⁹ It is not the result of works. So no man should boast.

¹¹ When they had not yet been born nor performed anything good or vile, so the purpose of God regarding the choosing would continue without dependence on works but on the One who calls.

¹⁶ So then it does not depend on mans will or effort, but on God who shows mercy.

⁶ If it is by grace then it is no longer on the basis of works. Otherwise grace is not grace (undeserved kindness). But if it is of works then it is not by grace. Otherwise works are no longer works.

²⁹ No human being should boast before God. ³⁰ It is because of him you are united with Christ Jesus, who became wisdom to us from God, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. ³¹ Let it be as it is written, »He that boasts, let him boast in Jehovah!« (Jeremiah 9:24)

²⁰ No flesh will be justified before God by works of the law. Knowledge of sin comes from the law.

²⁷ Where is the boasting? It is excluded. Is it by law? Is it by works? No, it is by a principle of faith. ²⁸ We reason therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

² If Abraham was declared righteous by works, he could boast, but not to God.

⁹ God has saved us and called us with a holy calling. This is not according to our works, but according to his purpose and grace that was granted us in Christ Jesus, from all eternity.

³ For we also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. ⁴ When the kindness of God our Savior, and his love toward man, appeared, ⁵ not by works done in righteousness, which we did, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration (restoration) (spiritual rebirth) and renewing (renovation) of the Holy Spirit.
