¹³ »Jehovah will make you the head and not the tail, and you only will be above, and you will not be underneath. If you listen to the commandments of Jehovah your God, which I charge you today, to observe them carefully,

¹⁸ »Edom shall be a possession. Seir, its enemies, also will be a possession. This while Israel performs valiantly. ¹⁹ »One from Jacob will have dominion and will destroy the remnant from the city.«

⁶ »Carefully obey the laws. For this will show your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations. They will hear all these statutes and say: ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’ ⁷ »What great nation is there, who has God so near to them? For we call on Jehovah our God for all things! ⁸ »And what great nation is there that has statutes and judgments so righteous as the law I present to you this day? ⁹ »Be on your guard! Make sure you do not forget, as long as you live, what you have seen with your own eyes. Teach them to your children and your grandchildren.

¹ »Carefully obey Jehovah your God. Faithfully follow all his commandments that I give you today. If you do this Jehovah your God will place you high above all the other nations in the world.

¹⁴ So Jehovah will cut off from Israel head and tail, palm branch and reed (rush) in one day. ¹⁵ Elders and dignitaries are the head, and prophets who teach lies are the tail.

²⁷ Let your manner of life be worthy of the good news about Christ. Whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your conduct, that you stand fast in one spirit (common purpose) (mental disposition) (vital principle), with one mind striving together for the faith of the good news.
