² The LORD will protect him, and keep him alive. He shall be blessed on the earth, and he will not surrender him to the will of his enemies.

¹² Do not deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries, for false witnesses have risen up against me, such as breathe out violence.

²² For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land. Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.

³² The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to kill him. ³³ The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

³ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. ⁴ He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His truth is an encompassing shield. ⁵ You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; ⁶ nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. ⁷ A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you.

⁸ For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now, and of that which is to come.
