¹ [For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David.] In you, LORD, I take refuge. Let me never be disappointed. Deliver me in your righteousness.

⁸ The LORD administers judgment to the peoples. Judge me, LORD, according to my righteousness, and to my integrity that is in me. ⁹ Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous. The righteous God tests hearts and minds.

⁴ Our fathers trusted in you. They trusted, and you delivered them. ⁵ They cried to you, and escaped. They trusted in you, and were not put to shame.

² My God, I have trusted in you. Do not let me be shamed. Do not let my enemies triumph over me.

¹ Vindicate me, God, and plead my cause against a faithless nation. Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.

¹ In you, LORD, I take refuge. Never let me be disappointed. ² Deliver me in your righteousness, and rescue me. Turn your ear to me, and save me. ³ Be to me a rock of refuge to which I may always go. Give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.

¹ [A Psalm by David.] Hear my prayer, LORD. Listen to my petitions. In your faithfulness and righteousness, relieve me.

¹¹ Revive me, LORD, for your name's sake. In your righteousness, bring my soul out of trouble. ¹² In your loving kindness, cut off my enemies, and destroy all those who afflict my soul, For I am your servant.

²³ Kings shall be your nursing fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers: they shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of your feet; and you shall know that I am the LORD; and those who wait for me shall not be disappointed."

¹⁶ Lord, according to all your righteousness, let your anger and please let your wrath be turned away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people have become a reproach to all who are around us.

⁵ and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

¹¹ For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be put to shame."
