⁹ And God said, "Let the waters under the sky be gathered to one gathering, and let the dry land appear." And it was so. And the waters under the sky gathered to their gatherings, and the dry land appeared. ¹⁰ And God called the dry land Earth, and the gatherings of the waters he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.

²² While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."

⁴ "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding.

⁸ "Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth from the womb, ⁹ when I made clouds its garment, and wrapped it in thick darkness, ¹⁰ marked out for it my bound, set bars and doors, ¹¹ and said, 'Here you may come, but no further. Here your proud waves shall be stayed?'

⁶ By the word of the LORD the heavens were made; and all their host by the breath of his mouth.

¹ The LORD reigns. He is clothed with majesty. The LORD is armed with strength. The world also is established. It can't be moved.

⁴ In his hand are the deep places of the earth. The heights of the mountains are also his.

¹⁰ Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns." The world is also established. It can't be moved. He will judge the peoples with equity.

⁵ He laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be moved forever and ever. ⁶ You covered it with the deep as with a cloak. The waters stood above the mountains.

⁶ To him who spread out the earth above the waters; for his loving kindness endures forever:

²² Do you not fear me?' says the LORD 'Won't you tremble at my presence, who have placed the sand for the bound of the sea, by a perpetual decree, that it can't pass it? And though its waves toss themselves, yet they can't prevail; though they roar, yet they can't pass over it.'

¹¹ You shall say this to them: 'The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, these shall perish from the earth, and from under the heavens.' ¹² He has made the earth by his power, he has established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding has he stretched out the heavens: ¹³ when he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the farthest parts of the earth; he makes lightnings for the rain, and brings forth the wind out of his treasuries. ¹⁴ Every man has become brutish and without knowledge; every goldsmith is disappointed by his engraved image; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. ¹⁵ They are vanity, a work of delusion: in the time of their visitation they shall perish. ¹⁶ The portion of Jacob is not like these; for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance; the LORD of hosts is his name."

⁵ For this they willfully forget, that there were heavens from of old, and an earth formed out of water and amid water, by the word of God; ⁶ by which means the world that then was, being deluged with water, was destroyed. ⁷ But the heavens that now are, and the earth, by the same word have been stored up for fire, being reserved against the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly people.
