¹ Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary. Praise him in his heavens for his acts of power.

⁶ And God said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters." And it was so. ⁷ And God made the expanse, and separated the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse. ⁸ And God called the expanse Sky. And God saw that it was good. There was evening and there was morning, a second day.

¹ [For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David.] The heavens declare the glory of God. The expanse shows his handiwork.

⁹ The voice of the LORD makes the large trees tremble, and strips the forests bare. In his temple everything says, "Glory."

¹³ I will come into your temple with burnt offerings. I will pay my vows to you, ¹⁴ which my lips promised, and my mouth spoke, when I was in distress. ¹⁵ I will offer to you burnt offerings of fat animals, with the offering of rams, I will offer bulls with goats. Selah. ¹⁶ Come, and hear, all you who fear God. I will declare what he has done for my soul.

¹⁹ For he has looked down from the height of his sanctuary. From heaven, the LORD looked at the earth;

¹⁸ I will pay my vows to the LORD, yes, in the presence of all his people, ¹⁹ in the courts of the LORD's house, in the midst of you, Jerusalem. Praise the LORD.

¹⁹ Open to me the gates of righteousness. I will enter into them and praise the LORD. ²⁰ This is the gate of the LORD; the righteous will enter into it.

² Lift up your hands in the sanctuary. Praise the LORD.

¹ Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the faithful ones.

²² And over the heads of the living creatures there was the likeness of an expanse, like glittering ice, it was awesome to look upon, stretched out over their heads above. ²³ Under the expanse their wings were straight, the one toward the other: each one had two which covered on this side, and every one had two which covered on that side, their bodies. ²⁴ When they went, I heard the noise of their wings like the noise of great waters, like the voice of Shaddai, a noise of tumult like the noise of an army: when they stood, they let down their wings. ²⁵ There was a voice above the expanse that was over their heads: when they stood, they let down their wings. ²⁶ Above the expanse that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone; and on the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man on it above.

¹ Then I looked, and saw, in the expanse that was over the head of the cherubim there appeared above them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.

³ And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.
