²¹ My son, let them not depart from your eyes. Keep sound wisdom and discretion:

⁹ Only take heed to yourself, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes saw, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your children and your children's children;

⁶ These words, which I command you this day, shall be on your heart; ⁷ and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. ⁸ You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for symbols between your eyes. ⁹ You shall write them on the door posts of your house, and on your gates.

⁴⁶ He said to them, "Set your heart to all the words which I testify to you this day, which you shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. ⁴⁷ For it is no vain thing for you; because it is your life, and through this thing you shall prolong your days in the land, where you go over the Jordan to possess it."

⁸ This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.

⁷ He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity;

¹ My son, do not forget my teaching; but let your heart keep my commandments: ² for length of days, and years of life, and peace, will they add to you. ³ Do not let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart.

³¹ Jesus therefore said to those Judeans who had believed him, "If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples.

⁶ If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch, and withers; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned. ⁷ If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.

¹ Therefore we ought to pay greater attention to the things that were heard, so that we will not drift away. ² For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense; ³ how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation—which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard;

²⁴ As for you, let that remain in you which you heard from the beginning. If that which you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son, and in the Father.

²⁷ As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you do not need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you remain in him.
