³ If he is pleased to contend with him, he can't answer him one time in a thousand.

²⁰ Though I am righteous, my own mouth shall condemn me. Though I am blameless, it shall prove me perverse.

³² For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, that we should come together in judgment. ³³ There is no umpire between us, that might lay his hand on us both.

² I will tell God, 'Do not condemn me. Show me why you contend with me.

³ Oh that I knew where I might find him. That I might come even to his seat. ⁴ I would set my cause in order before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. ⁵ I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would tell me. ⁶ Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? No, but he would listen to me. ⁷ There the upright might reason with him, so I should be delivered forever from my judge.

³⁵ oh that I had one to hear me. (look, here is my signature, let Shaddai answer me); let the accuser write my indictment. ³⁶ Surely I would carry it on my shoulder; and I would bind it to me as a crown. ³⁷ I would declare to him the number of my steps; as a prince would I go near to him.

¹³ Why do you strive against him, because he doesn't give account of any of his matters?

¹⁴ If he set his heart on himself, If he gathered to himself his spirit and his breath, ¹⁵ all flesh would perish together, and man would turn again to dust.

² "Shall he who argues contend with Shaddai? He who argues with God, let him answer it."

¹² Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors.

¹² For innumerable evils have surrounded me. My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up. They are more than the hairs of my head. My heart has failed me.

¹⁵ For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite. ¹⁶ For I will not contend forever, neither will I be always angry; for the spirit would faint before me, and the souls who I have made.

²⁰ But who indeed are you, a human being, to reply against God? Will the thing formed ask him who formed it, "Why did you make me like this?"

⁸ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

²⁰ because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
