⁷ Then came in the magicians, the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the diviners; and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known to me its interpretation.

⁸ It happened in the morning that his mind was troubled, so he summoned all of Egyptʼs magicians and wise men. And Pharaoh told them his dreams, but there was no one who could interpret them to Pharaoh.

²⁵ who foils the omens of the empty talkers, and makes fools of diviners; who turns sages back, and makes their knowledge foolish;

⁹ But as for you, do not listen to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreams, nor to your soothsayers, nor to your sorcerers, who speak to you, saying, 'You shall not serve the king of Babylon': ¹⁰ for they prophesy a lie to you, to remove you far from your land, and that I should drive you out, and you should perish.

¹ In the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; and his spirit was troubled, and his sleep went from him. ² Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the enchanters, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, to tell the king his dreams. So they came in and stood before the king.

⁷ They answered the second time and said, "Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will show the interpretation."

¹⁰ The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, "There is not a man on the earth who can show the king's matter, because no king, lord, or ruler, has asked such a thing of any magician, or enchanter, or Chaldean.

²⁷ Daniel answered before the king, and said, "The secret which the king has demanded is such that no wise men, enchanters, magicians, nor soothsayers, can show to the king;

⁸ Even as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so do these also oppose the truth; people corrupted in mind, disapproved concerning the faith. ⁹ But they will proceed no further. For their folly will be evident to all, as theirs also was.
