³⁰ Now I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me, ³¹ that I may be delivered from those who are disobedient in Judea, and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints;

¹ I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings, be made for all people: ² for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.

⁵ You also, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
