¹¹ And it will come about when your days are fulfilled, when you must go to be with your fathers, that I will raise up your descendant after you, who shall be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom. ¹² He will build me a house, and I will establish his throne forever. ¹³ I will be his father, and he shall be my son. I will not take my loving kindness away from him, as I took it from him that was before you; ¹⁴ but I will settle him in my house and in my kingdom forever. His throne shall be established forever."'"

⁴ One thing I have asked of the LORD, that I will seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to see the LORD's beauty, and to inquire in his temple.

² He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress—I will never be greatly shaken.

²⁸ I will keep my loving kindness for him forevermore. My covenant will stand firm with him. ²⁹ And I will establish his descendants forever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

⁸¹ KAPH. My soul faints for your salvation. I hope in your word.

² In that day, the LORD's branch will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the beauty and glory of the survivors of Israel.

¹⁴ Therefore the LORD himself will give you a sign. Look, the virgin will conceive, and bear a son, and they will call his name Immanuel.

⁶ For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders, and his name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ⁷ Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

¹ A branch will come out of the stock of Jesse, and a shoot out of his roots will bear fruit.

⁶ In days to come, Jacob will take root. Israel will blossom and bud. They will fill the surface of the world with fruit.

³ Turn your ear, and come to me; hear, and your soul shall live: and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, the faithful kindnesses of David.

⁸ "For I, the LORD, love justice, and I hate robbery with iniquity; and I will give them their recompense in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

⁴⁰ and I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from following them, to do them good; and I will put my fear in their hearts, that they may not depart from me.

²⁵ Thus says the LORD: 'If my covenant of day and night fails, if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth; ²⁶ then will I also cast away the descendants of Jacob, and of David my servant, so that I will not take of his descendants to be rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and will have mercy on them.'"

²⁶ Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in their midst forevermore.

¹¹ On that day I will rebuild the tabernacle of David that has fallen, and repair its broken places, and I will rebuild its ruins, and I will restore it as in the days of old;

³⁴ "Concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he has spoken thus: 'I will give to you the faithful sacred things of David.'

⁶ I planted. Apollos watered. But God made it grow. ⁷ So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who makes it grow.

¹⁹ This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and entering into that which is within the curtain;

²⁰ Now may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an everlasting covenant, our Lord Jesus,
