⁵ but the goal of this command is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and unfeigned faith;

⁴ He who has clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, and has not sworn deceitfully.

¹⁰ Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me.

¹⁴ Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long shall your evil thoughts lodge within you?

⁸ Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

³⁵ The good person out of his good treasure brings out good things, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings out evil things.

²⁸ And one of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together. Seeing that he had answered them well, asked him, "Which commandment is the greatest of all?" ²⁹ Jesus answered, "The first is, 'Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. ³⁰ And you are to love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' ³¹ The second is this, 'You are to love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." ³² The scribe said to him, "Truly, Teacher, you have said well that he is one, and there is none other but he, ³³ and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices." ³⁴ When Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the Kingdom of God." No one dared ask him any question after that.

⁹ He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.

¹ Paul, looking steadfastly at the council, said, "Brothers, I have lived before God in all good conscience until this day."

¹⁶ This being so, I also do my best to always have a clear conscience toward God and people.

¹ I tell the truth in Christ. I am not lying, my conscience testifying with me in the Holy Spirit,

⁴ For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

⁸ Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. ⁹ For the commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not give false testimony," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, "You are to love your neighbor as yourself." ¹⁰ Love does not harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.

¹⁵ Yet if because of food your brother is grieved, you walk no longer in love. Do not destroy with your food him for whom Christ died.

¹ Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. ² But if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he does not yet know as he ought to know. ³ But if anyone loves God, the same is known by him.

¹ If I speak with the tongues of humans and of angels, but do not have love, I have become sounding bronze, or a clanging cymbal.

¹ Follow after love, and earnestly desire spiritual things, and especially that you may prophesy.

¹² For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that with pure motives and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God we conducted ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision amounts to anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love.

¹³ For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only do not use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another. ¹⁴ For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: "You are to love your neighbor as yourself."

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

¹⁹ holding faith and a good conscience; which some having thrust away made a shipwreck concerning the faith;

⁹ holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

³ I thank God, whom I serve as my forefathers did, with a pure conscience. How unceasing is my memory of you in my petitions, night and day

⁵ having been reminded of the unfeigned faith that is in you; which lived first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice, and, I am persuaded, in you also.

²² Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

¹⁵ To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.

¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

²² let us draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water,

⁵ By faith, Hanoch was taken away, so that he would not see death, "and he was not found, because God took him away." For before he was taken he was attested as having pleased God. ⁶ Now without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.

¹⁸ Pray for us, for we are persuaded that we have a good conscience, desiring to live honorably in all things.

⁸ Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

²² Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from a pure heart fervently:

¹⁶ having a good conscience; so that when they speak evil against you, they may be put to shame who slander your good manner of life in Christ.

²¹ This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the body, but an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

⁸ Above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.

⁷ and in godliness brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, love.

³ Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.

²³ This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded us.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God. ⁸ He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. ⁹ By this God's love was revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we have loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another. ¹² No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us. ¹³ By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. ¹⁴ We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world.
