¹² And if ye have not been found faithful in that which is not yours, who will give to you that which is yours?

¹⁴ For, as a man that took a journey, called his servants and delivered to them his property; ¹⁵ to one he gave five talents; to another, two; and to another, one: to each, according to his ability: and he immediately departed. ¹⁶ Then he that received five talents, went and traded with them, and gained five more. ¹⁷ And likewise: the one of two talents, by trading gained two more. ¹⁸ But he that received one, went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. ¹⁹ And after a long time, the lord of those servants came, and received account from them. ²⁰ And he who had received the five talents, came and brought five others; and said, My lord, thou gavest me five talents; behold, I have gained by trading five more to them. ²¹ His lord said to him: Well done! good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful with a little; I will set thee over much: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. ²² And he of the two talents came, and said: My lord, thou gavest me two talents; behold, I have by trading gained two more to them. ²³ His lord said to him: Well done! good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful with a little; I will set thee over much: enter thou into the Joy of thy lord. ²⁴ And he also that received the one talent, came and said: My lord, I knew thee, that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou hast not sowed, and gathering where thou hast not scattered; ²⁵ and I was afraid, and I went and hid thy talent in the earth. Behold, thou hast what is thine. ²⁶ His lord answered, and said to him: Wicked and slothful servant! Thou knewest me, that I reap where I have not sowed, and gather where I have not scattered! ²⁷ Thou oughtest to have cast my money into the exchange; and I might have come and demanded my property with its interest. ²⁸ Take therefore the talent from him, and give it to him that hath ten talents. ²⁹ For, to him that hath, shall be given, and he shall have more; but from him that hath not, even what he hath shall be taken away.

⁴² yet but one thing is necessary; and Mary hath chosen for herself the good part, which shall not be taken from her.

¹³ And he called his ten servants, and gave them ten pounds: and he said to them, Traffic until I come. ¹⁴ But the inhabitants of his city hated him; and they sent envoys after him, saying: We wish this man not to reign over us. ¹⁵ And when he had obtained the royalty, and had returned, he commanded those servants to be called, to whom he had committed his money; that he might know what each of them had gained by trading. ¹⁶ And the first came, and said: My Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. ¹⁷ He said to him: Well done, good servant! As thou hast been faithful over a little, thou shalt have authority over ten towns. ¹⁸ And the second came, and said: My lord, thy pound hath produced five pounds. ¹⁹ He said likewise to him: Thou also shalt have authority over five towns. ²⁰ And another came, and said: My lord, lo, this is thy pound, which hath been with me, laid up in fine linen. ²¹ For I was afraid of thee, because thou art a hard man, and takest up that which thou layedst not down, and reapest that which thou sowedst not. ²² He said to him: Out of thy own mouth will I judge thee, thou evil servant. Thou knewest me, that I am a hard man, and that I take up what I laid not down, and reap what I sowed not! ²³ Why didst thou not put my money into the broker's hands, that when I came, I might have demanded it with interest? ²⁴ And he said to them that stood before him: Take from him the pound, and give it to him with whom are the ten pounds. ²⁵ They say to him: Our lord, there are with him ten pounds. ²⁶ He said to them: I tell you, that to every one that hath, will be given; and from him that hath not, even what he hath will be taken away.

³ for ye are dead; and your life is hidden with the Messiah, in God. ⁴ And when the Messiah, who is our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also be manifested with him in glory.

⁴ and to an inheritance incorruptible, undefiled, and unfading, which is prepared for you in heaven; ⁵ while ye are kept, by the power of God and by faith, for the life that is prepared and will be revealed in the last times;
