¹¹ These things have I spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete.

⁵ And when he findeth it, he rejoiceth, and taketh it upon his shoulders;

⁹ And when she hath found it, she calleth together her friends and neighbors, and saith to them: Rejoice with me, for I have found my drachma that was lost.

²³ And bring forth and slay the fatted bullock; and let us eat, and be merry.

³² But it was proper for us to be merry, and to rejoice; because this thy brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.

²⁹ He that hath the bride, is the bridegroom: and the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and listeneth to him, rejoiceth with great joy on account of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy, therefore, lo, it is full.

²⁴ Hitherto ye have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and ye will receive; that your joy may be complete.

³³ These things have I said to you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye will have trouble: but, take courage, I have vanquished the world.

¹³ But now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that my joy may be complete in them.

¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace, by faith; that ye may abound in his hope, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

²⁴ Not that we are lords over your faith, but we are helpers of your joy; for it is by faith ye stand.

¹⁸ And be not drunk with wine, in which is dissoluteness; but be ye filled with the spirit.

²⁵ And this I confidently know, that I shall continue and remain, for your joy, and for the furtherance of your faith;

¹⁶ And be joyful always.

⁸ whom having not seen, ye love; and in the faith of whom ye rejoice, with joy that is glorious and ineffable,

⁴ And these things we write to you, that our joy in you may be complete.

¹² Having many things I could write to you, I would not with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you, and to converse mouth to mouth, that our joy may be complete.
