⁷ yea it shalbe a porcyon for suche as remayne of the house of Iuda, to fede there vpon. In the houses of Ascalon shall they reste towarde nyght: for the Lorde theyr God shal vpset them, & turne awaye theyr captyuyte.

²⁴ And Ioseph sayd vnto his brethren: I dye: And God wyl suerlye vyset you & brynge you out of thys lande, vnto the lande whych he sware vnto Abraham, Isaac and Iacob.

³¹ & the people beleued. And when they hearde that the Lord had visited the children of Israell and had loked vpon their tribulation they bowed them selues and worshypped.

¹ To the chaunter, a Psalme of the sonnes of Corah. Lorde, thou barest a loue vnto thy land thou dydest brynge agayne the captyuyte of Iacob.

¹ The songe of the steares. When the Lorde turneth agayn the captiuitie of Syon, then shall we be lyke vnto them that dreame. ² Then shal our mouth be filled wyth laughter, and oure tonge with ioye. Then shall it be sayd among the Heathen: the Lord hath done greate thynges for them. ³ Yea, the Lorde hath done greate thynges for vs all ready, wherof we reioyse. ⁴ Turne oure captiuitie, O Lorde, as the ryuers in the south.

¹¹ At the same tyme shal the Lord take in hande agayne, to conquere the remnaunt of hys people (whiche are left alyue.) From the Assirians, Egypcians, Arabians, Morians, Elamites, Ealdeyes, Antiochiaus, and Ilandes of the sea.

¹ Bvt the Lorde wylbe mercyfull vnto Iacob, and wil take vp Israel agayne, and set them in their owne lande. Straungers shall cleaue vnto them, and get them to the house of Iacob.

²⁹ Reioyse not (thou whole Palestina) as thoughe the road of him that beateth the were broken: for out of the serpentes rote, there shall waxe a kockatrice, & the frute shalbe a fyrie worme. ³⁰ But the poore shall fede of the best thynges, and the simple shal dwel in safety. Thy rotes wil I destroye with hunger, and it shall slay thy remnaunt. ³¹ Mourne ye portes, wepe ye cities, and feare thou (O whole Palestina) for there shall come from the North a smoke, whose power noman may abyde. ³² Who shall then maynteyne the messages of the Gentyles? But the Lorde stablisheth Sion, and the poore of my people shall put their truste in hym.

¹⁸ Then those that be of the house of Iuda, shal go vnto the house of Israel, and they shal come together out of the North, into the same land, that I haue geuen youre fathers.

³ And will gather together the remnaunt of my flocke, from all landes that I had dryuen them vnto, & will bringe them agayne to their pastures, that they maye growe and increase.

¹⁴ I wyl be founde of you (sayeth the Lord) & wil delyuer you out of preson, & gather you together agayne oute of all places, wherein I haue scatred you, sayeth the Lord: & wil bring you agayne to the same place, from whence I caused you to be caryed awaye captyue.

³ For lo, the time commeth (sayth the Lorde) that I wyl brynge agayne the presonners of my people of Israel and Iuda, sayeth the Lord: For I wyl restore them vnto the lande, that I gaue to theyr fathers, and they shall haue it in possessyon.

¹⁸ For thus sayth the Lorde: Beholde, I will set vp Iacobs tentes agayne, and defende his dwellynge place. The cytye shalbe buylded in her olde estate, and the houses shall haue theyr ryghte foundacyon. ¹⁹ And oute of them shall go thankesgeuynge, and the voyce of ioye. I wyll multyplye them, and they shall not mynishe: I shall endue them wyth honoure, and no man shall subdue them.

⁷ for thus sayeth the Lorde: Reioyce wyth gladnes because of Iacob, crye vnto the heade of the Gentyles: speake oute, synge, and saye: The Lorde shall delyuer hys people, the remnaunte of Israell, and make them whol

⁴⁴ Yea lande shalbe bought for money, & euidences made thervpon and sealed before witnesses in the countre of Beniamin, and round about Ierusalem, in the cyties of Iuda, in the cities that are vpon the mountaynes, and in them that lye beneth, yea and in the cytyes that are in the deserte. For I will bringe their presonners hyther agayne, sayeth the Lorde.

⁷ And I will returne the captyuyte of Iuda and Israell, and I will set them vp agayne, as they were afo

²⁵ Therfore thus sayeth the Lorde God: Now wyll I brynge agayne the captiues of Iacob and haue mercy vpon the whole house of Israell, and be gelous for my holy names sake.

¹⁴ and I will turne the captyuyte of my people of Israell: they shall repayre the waste cytyes, and haue them in possession: they shal plante vynyardes, and drinke the wine therof: they shal make gardens, & enioye the fruytes of them. ¹⁵ And I wyll plante them vpon their owne grounde, so that I wyll neuer rote them out agayne from their lande which I haue geuen them sayeth the Lorde thy God.

¹⁹ They of the South shall haue the mount of Esau in possession: and loke what lyeth vpon the grounde, that shall the Philistines haue: the playne feldes shall Ephraim & Samaria possesse: and the mountaynes of Galaad shal BenIamin haue.

¹² But I wyll gather the in dede, O Iacob, & dryue the remnaunt of Israell all together I shall cary them one wyth another, as a flocke in the folde, and as the catell in their stalles, that they maye be dysquyeted of other men.

⁷ & wyll geue yssue vnto the lame, and make of the out castes a greate people: and the Lorde hym selfe shalbe their kynge vpon the mount Sion, from this tyme forth for euermore.

¹⁰ And now (O thou daughter Sion) be sory, let it greue the as a wyfe laborynge wyth chyld: for now must thou gett the out of the cytie, & dwell vpon the playne felde: Yee vnto Babylon shalt thou go, there shalt thou be delyuered, and there the Lorde shall lowse the from the hande of thyne enemyes.

³ In the meane whyle he plageth them for a season, vntyll the tyme that she (whyche shall beare) haue borne: then shall the remnaunt of hys brethren be conuerted vnto the chyldren of Israell. ⁴ He shall stande fast, and geue fode in the strength of the Lorde, and in the vyctorye of the name of the Lorde hys God: and when they be conuerted, he shal be magnifyed vnto the farthest partes of the worlde. ⁵ Then shall there be peace, so that the Assirian maye come in to oure lande, and treade in oure houses. We shall brynge vp seuen shepherdes and .viij. prynces vpon them: ⁶ these shall subdue the lande of Assur wyth the swerde, and the lande of Nymrod wyth their naked weapens. Thus shall he delyuer vs from the Assirian, when he commeth within oure lande, & setteth hys fote wythin oure borders. ⁷ And the remnaunt of Iacob shalbe amonge the multytude of people, as the dewe of the Lorde, and as the droppes vpon the grasse, that tarieth for no man, & wayteth of no body. ⁸ Yee the resydue of Iacob shalbe amonge the Gentyles and the multitude of people, as the lyon amonge the beastes of the wod, and as the Lyons whelpe amonge a flocke of shepe: whyche (when he goeth thorowe) treadeth downe, teareth in peces, and there is no man that can helpe.

⁹ Therfore as truely as I lyue (sayeth the Lorde of hostes the God of Israel) Moab shalbe as Sodome, & Ammon as Gomorra: euen drye thorne hedges, salt pyttes and a perpetual wyldernes. The resydue of my folcke shall spoyle them the remnaunte of my people shall haue them in possession.

²⁰ At the same time wyll I brynge you in, and at the same tyme wyll I gather you. I wyll get you a name and a good reporte amonge al people of the earthe, when I turne back youre captyuyte before youre eyes, sayeth the Lorde.

¹² Now when Zorobabel the sonne of Salathiel, and Iesua the sonne of Iosedech the hye priest with the remnaunte of the people, heard the voyce of the Lorde theyr God, and the wordes of the Prophete Aggeus (lyke as the lorde theyr God hath sent him) the people dyd fear the Lorde.

² speake to Zorobabel the sonne of Salathiel prince of Iuda, and to Iesua the sonne of Iosedech the hye priest, & to the resydue of the people, and saye:

⁶ Straungers shal dwel at Asdod, & as for the pryde of the Philistines, I shal rote out ⁷ Their bloud wil I take away from their mouth and their abhominacyons from among their teeth Thus they shalbe left for our God, yea they shalbe as a prince in Iuda, & Accaron like as Iebusy:

⁶⁸ Blessed be the Lorde God of Israel, for he hath visyted and redemed his people.

¹⁶ And there came a feare on them all. And they glorifyed God saiynge: a greate Prophete is rysen among vs, and God hath visyted his people.

²⁶ Then the aungel of the Lorde spake vnto Philippe, saiynge: aryse and go Southward vnto the way, that goeth doune from Ierusalem vnto Gaza, which is in the desert.

⁴⁰ but Philippe was found at Azotus. And he walked thorow out the countrie preachynge in theyr cytyes, tyll he came to Cesarea.

⁵ Euen so at thys tyme is there a remnaunte left thorow the election of grace.
