² Surelye verye muche. Fyrste vnto them was commytted the word of God.

⁷ For what nation is so great that hath Goddes so nye vnto him as the Lorde oure God is nye vnto vs, in all thynges, when we cal vnto him? ⁸ Yea, & what nation is so greate that hathe ordinaunces, and lawes so ryghtuouse, as all thys lawe which I set before you thys day.

¹³ Thou camest doune also vpon mount Sinai, and spakest vnto them from heauen, and gaueste them ryght iudgementes, true lawes good commaundementes and statutes, ¹⁴ and declaredeste vnto them thy holye Sabboth, & commaundedst them preceptes, ordinaunces, and lawes, by Moses thy seruaunte:

⁴ That we shoulde not hyde them from the chyldren of the generations to come: but to shewe the honoure of the Lorde, hys myghte and wonderfull worckes that he hath done. ⁵ He made a couenaunte wyth Iacob, and gaue Israel a lawe, whiche he commaunded oure forefathers to teache their chyldren. ⁶ That their posterytye myghte knowe it, and the chyldren whych were yet vnborne. To thintent that when they came vp they myghte shewe their chyldren the same. ⁷ That they also myghte put their truste in God, & not to forget what he had done, but to kepe his commaundementes,

¹⁴⁰ Thy worde is tryed to the vttermost, and thy seruaunt loueth it.

¹⁹ He sheweth hys woorde vnto Iacob, hys statutes and ordinaunces vnto Israel. ²⁰ He hath not dealte so with all the Heathen, neither haue they knowlege of hys lawes. Prayse the euerlastyng.

²⁰ Yf any man want lyght, let hym loke vpon the lawe and the testimony, whether they speake not after thys meaninge.

¹¹ I gaue them my commaundementes, and shewed them my lawes, whiche who so kepeth, shall lyue in them. ¹² I gaue them also my holy dayes, to be a token betwixte me and them, and therby know, that I am the Lorde, whiche haloweth them.

²¹ Neuertheles I will shew the the thinge, that is fast noted in the scripture of truethe. And as for all yonder matters, there is none that helpeth me in them, but Michael youre prynce.

²⁹ Abraham said vnto hym: they haue Moyses and the Prophetes: let them heare them. ³⁰ And he sayd: nay father Abraham, but yf one came vnto them from the dead, they woulde repent. ³¹ He sayed vnto hym: yf they heare not Moyses, and the Prophetes, neyther wyll they beleue, though one rose from death agayne.

³⁹ Searche the sciptures, for in them ye thinke ye haue eternall lyfe: and they are they which testifye of me.

³⁸ This is he that was in the congregation, in the wyldernes wyth the aungell, whyche spake to hym in the mounte Syna, and wyth oure fathers. This man receiued the worde of lyfe to geue vnto vs,

² whiche he promised afore by hys Prophetes in the holye scriptures

¹⁸ & knowest hys wyll, and haste experience of good, and bad, in that thou arte infourmed by the lawe,

³ What then though some of them dyd not beleue? shall theyr vnbelefe make the promes of God withoute effecte?

⁴ whiche are the Israelites. To whom pertayneth the adoption, and the glory, and the couenauntes, & the lawe that was geuen, & the seruice of God, & the promises:

¹ I saye then: hath God cast away hys people? God forbyd. For euen I verelye am an Israelite, of the sede of Abraham, and of the trybe of Beniamin, ² GOD hath not caste awaye hys people whiche he knewe before. Eyther wote ye not what the scripture sayth by the mouth of Helyas, how he maketh intercessyon to God agaynst Israel, saiynge:

¹⁵ For yf the castynge awaye of them, be the reconcilinge of the worlde: what shall the receyuing of them be but lyfe agayne from death? ¹⁶ For yf one piece be holye, the whole heape is holy & yf the rose be holy, the braunches are holy also. ¹⁷ Thoughe some of the braunches be broken of, and thou beynge a wylde olyue tree, arte grafte in among them, and made partaker of the rote and fatnes of the olyue tree, ¹⁸ bost not thy selfe agaynst the braunches. For yf thou boste thy selfe, remember that thou bearest not the rote, but the rote the. ¹⁹ Thou wylte saye then: the braunches are broken of, that I might be grafte in. ²⁰ Thou sayeste well: because of vnbelefe they are broken of, & thou standest stedfaste in faythe. ²¹ Be not hye mynded, but feare seyng that God spared not the naturall braunches, leste happlye he also spare not the. ²² Beholde the kyndnes and rigorousnes of God on them which fell, rygorousnes: but towardes the kyndnes, yf thou contynue in hys kyndnes. Or els thou shalte be hewen of, ²³ and yf they byde not styll in vnbelefe, shalbe graffed in agayne. For God is of power to graffe them in agayn.

²⁸ As concernynge the Gospell, they are ennemyes for youre sakes: but as touchynge the eleccyon, they are beloued for the fathers sakes. ²⁹ For verelye the giftes and callyng of god are suche, that it cannot repente hym of them,

¹⁷ Yf I do it wyth a good wil, I haue a rewarde. But yf I do it against my wyl, an offyce is committed vnto me.

¹⁹ For God was in Christe, and made agrement betwene the worlde and hym selfe, and imputed not theyr synnes vnto them, & hathe committed to vs the preachynge of the atonnement.

⁷ But contrary wyse, when they sawe that the Gospel ouer that vncircumcysyon was committed vnto me, as the gospell ouer the circumcisyon was vnto Peter:

²⁰ O Timothe saue that whiche is geuen the to kepe, and auoyde vnghostlye vanytyes of voyces and opposicyons of science falslye so called,

¹⁵ and for as muche also as thou haste knowen holy scrypture of a chyld, whiche is able to make the wyse vnto saluacion thorowe the fayth which is in Christ Iesu. ¹⁶ For al scripture geuen by inspyracion of God, is profytable to teache, to improue, to amende and to instruct in ryghtuousnes, ¹⁷ that the man of God maye be perfecte and prepared vnto all good workes.

¹² For when as concerneinge the tyme, ye oughte to be teachers, yet haue ye nede agayne, that we teache you the fyrst prynciples of the word of God, and are become such as haue nede of milk and not of stronge meate:

¹¹ Yf anye man speake let hym talke as though he spake the wordes of God. If any man mynistre, let hym do it as of the habilitie, whyche God ministreth vnto hym. That God in all thinges may be glorifyed thorowe IESUS Christ, to whom be prayse and domynyon for euer, and whyle the worlde standeth. Amen.

¹⁹ We haue also a ryght sure worde of prophesye, whervnto yf ye take hede, as vnto a light, that shineth in a darcke place, ye do wel vntyll the daye dawne, and the daye starre aryse in youre hertes. ²⁰ So that ye fyrste knowe this, that no prophesye in the scripture hath any priuate interpretacion. ²¹ For the scrypture came neuer by the wyl of man, but holye men of God spake as they were moued by the holy ghoste.

¹⁰ And I fell at his feete, to worshippe him. And he sayed vnto me, se thou do it not. For I am thy felowe seruaunt, & one of thy brethren, & of them that haue the testimony of Iesus. Worshippe God. For the testimony of Iesus is the spirit of prophesye.

⁶ And he said vnto me, these sayinges are faythfull, & true. And the Lord God of sainctes and prophetes sente hys angel to shew vnto hys seruauntes, the thynges whiche muste shortly be fulfylled.
