¹⁹ saiyng: what maye be knowen of God, that same is manifest amonge them. For God dyd shewe it vnto them.

¹ To the chaunter, a Psalm of Dauid. The very heauens declare the glory of God, and the very firmament sheweth his handy worcke. ² One daye telleth another, and one nyght certifyeth another. ³ There is neyther speach ner language, but their voices are hard among them. ⁴ Their sounde is gone oute into all landes, and their wordes into the endes of the worlde. ⁵ In them hathe he sette a tabernacle for the Sunne, whych commeth forthe as a brydegrome out of his chamber, and reioyseth as a giaunt to runne his course. ⁶ It goeth forth from the one ende of the heauen, and runneth aboute vnto the same ende agayne, and there maye no man hyde hym selfe from the heate therof.

²⁶ Lyft vp youre eyes on hye, and consydre. Who hath made those thynges, whyche come out by so greate heapes? And he can call them all by their names. For there is nothynge hyd vnto the greatnesse of his power, strength, and myght.

¹⁰ But the Lorde is a true God, a lyuynge God, and an euerlastinge kyng. Yf he be wroth, the earthe shaketh: all the Gentiles maye not abyde his indygnacyon. ¹¹ As for theyr Goddes, it maye well be sayde of them: they are Goddes, that made neyther heauen nor earthe: therfore shall they peryshe from the earthe, & from al thynges vnder heauen ¹² But (as for oure God) he made the earth with his power, and with hys wysdom hath he fynished the whole compasse of the worlde, wyth hys discrecion hath he spred oute the heauens. ¹³ At his voyce the waters gather together in the ayre, he draweth vp the cloudes from the vttermoste partes of the earth: he turneth lyghtenyng to rayne, & bryngeth forth the windes oute of theyr treasures:

⁹ That was a true lyght, which lyghted all men that come into the worlde.

¹⁶ the whiche in tymes paste suffered all nacyons to walke in theyr owne wayes. ¹⁷ Neuerthelesse he lefte not hym selfe without wytnes, in that he shewed hys benefytes, in geuynge vs rayne from heauen, and fruteful ceasons, fyllyng our hertes with fode and gladnes.

²³ For as I passed by, and behelde the master, howe ye worshyppe youre Goddes, I founde an Altare wherein was wrytten: vnto the vnknowen God. Whom ye then ignorauntelye worshyppe hym, shew I vnto you. ²⁴ God that made the worlde, and all that are in it, seynge that he is Lorde of heauen and earth, he dwelleth not in temples made with handes, neyther is worshypped wt mennes handes, ²⁵ as though he neded of any thing seynge he hym selfe geueth lyfe and brethe to al men euerye where, ²⁶ and hath made of one bloude all nacyons of men, for to dwell on al the face of the earth, and hath assygned before howe longe tyme, and also the endes of theyr inhabitacyon, ²⁷ that they shoulde seke God, yf they myght fele and fynde hym though he be not far from euerye one of vs. ²⁸ For in him we lyue, moue, and haue our beyng, as certayne of your own Poetes sayd. For we are also hys generacion. ²⁹ For as muche then as we are the generacyon of God, we ought not to thinke that the God hede is lyke vnto golde, syluer, or stone grauen by crafte and ymagynacyon of man. ³⁰ And the tyme of thys ignoraunce God regarded not. But now he byddeth all men euerye where repent,

²⁰ So that his inuisible thinges, that is to saye, hys eternall power and Godhead, are vnderstand & sene by the workes from the creation of the worlde. So that they are wythout excuse,
