⁴ I sayde vnto the madde people, deale not so madly, and to the vngodly set not vp your hornes.

² How long will ye geue wrong iudgement, and accept the personnes of the vngodly? Selah. ³ Defende the poore and fatherlesse, se that suche as be in nede & necessitie haue right. ⁴ Deliuer the outcaste & poore, & saue hym from the hande of the vngodly. ⁵ Neuerthelesse, they will not be learned & vnderstande, but walke on styll in darkenesse: therfore must all the foundacions of the lande be moued. ⁶ I haue sayde: ye are Goddes, ye all are the chyldren of the moost hyest. ⁷ But ye shall dye lyke men, and fall lyke one of the tyrauntes. ⁸ Aryse, O God, & iudge thou the earth, for all the Heathen are thyne by enheritaunce.

¹⁷ For thou art the glory of their strength, & thorow thy fauoure shalt thou lyfte vp oure hornes.

⁸ Take hede, ye vnwyse among the people: O ye fooles, when will ye vnderstande?

¹⁴ He exalteth the horne of his people, all hys saynctes shall prayse hym, the chyldren of Israell, euen the people that serueth him. Prayse the euerlastyng.

²² O ye chyldren, how longe will ye loue chyldyshnesse? how long wil the, scorners delite in scorning & the vnwise be enemies vnto knowlege?

⁵ Take hede vnto knowlege O ye ignoraunt, be wyse in hert O ye foles.

⁶ Forsake ignoraunce, & ye shall lyue: & se that ye go in the way of vnderstandinge.

²⁰ I desired also to knowe the trueth, as touching the ten hornes that he had vpon hys heade, and thys other, whiche came vp afterwarde, before whose face there fell doune thre: whyche horne had eyes, and a mouthe that spake presumptuous thynges, and loked with a grymmer vysage, then his felowes. ²¹ I behelde, and the same horne made battaile againste the saintes, yea and gat the victorie of them,

²¹ Then sayde I: what wyll these do? He aunswered, and said: Those are the hornes, which haue so strowed Iuda abroade, that no man durste lyft vp his head: But these are come to fraye them away and to caste oute the hornes of the Gentyles, whiche lyfte vp theyr horne ouer the lande of Iuda, to scatre it abroade.
