¹² The eies of the Lord preserue knowledge, but as for the words of the despyteful, he bringeth them to naught.

⁹ For the eyes of the Lorde beholde all the earthe, to strength the hertes of them that are hole with him. Herin thou hast done folyshly, and therfore from henceforth thou shalt haue warre.

¹² Which destroyeth the deuyces of the sotyll, so that they are not able to performe the thinges that they take in hande: ¹³ whyche compasseth the wyse in theyr owne craftynesse, and ouerthroweth the councell of the wycked?

¹⁹ where thorowe the name of the Lorde might be feared, from the rysynge of the Sunne: and his magesty, vnto the goinge doune of the same. For he shall come as a vyolente waterstreame, whyche the winde of the Lorde hath moued. ²⁰ But vnto Sion there shall come a redemer, and vnto them is Iacob that turne from wyckednesse, sayeth the Lorde. ²¹ I wyll make this couenaunt with them (sayeth the Lorde): My spirite that is come vpon the, and the wordes whyche I haue put in thy mouthe, shall neuer go out of thy mouthe, nor oute of the mouth of thy childers chyldren, from this tyme forth for euermore.

¹⁶ Simon Peter aunswered and sayde: Thou arte Christ the sonne of the liuynge God. ¹⁷ And Iesus aunswered and sayde to hym: happy arte thou Symon the sonne of Ionas, for fleshe & bloude hath not opened vnto the that, but my father which is in heauen. ¹⁸ And I saye also vnto the that thou arte Peeter: and vpon thys rocke I wil buylde my congregacion. And the gates of hell shall not preuayle against it.

³⁹ But and if it be of God ye can not destroye it, leaste haply ye be found to striue against god.

⁹ And ther was a certaine man called Simon, which before tyme in the same citye, vsed wytchcraft and bewitched the people of Samarye, sayinge that he was a man that coulde do greate thinges. ¹⁰ Whom they regarded, from the lest to the greatest, saiyng: this felow is the great power of God. ¹¹ And hym they set much by: because that of long tyme he had mocked them with sorcery. ¹² But assone as they beleued Philippes preachinge of the kyngedome of God and of the name of Iesu Christe, they were baptysed both men and women.

²³ And immediatly the aungell of the Lorde smote hym, because he gaue not God the glorye, and he was eaten of wormes, and gaue vp the ghost. ²⁴ And the worde of God grew and multyplyed.

⁸ But Elymas the sorcerer (for so was hys name by interpretacyon) withstode them, & sought to turne awaye the ruler from the faith. ⁹ Then Saul which also is called Paul being full of the holy ghost set hys eyes on hym, ¹⁰ & sayde. O full of all subteltie and disseytfulnes the chylde of the deuyll, and the enemye of all ryghteousnes, thou ceasest not to peruerte the strayghte wayes of the Lorde. ¹¹ And nowe beholde the hande of the Lorde is vpon the, and thou shalbe blynde, and not se the sunne for a season. And immediatlye there fell on hym a myste and a darcknes, and he wente about sekynge them that shoulde leade hym by the hande. ¹² Then the rular when he saw what had happened, beleued, and wondered at the doctryne of the Lorde.

⁸ And then shall that wicked be vttered, whome the Lorde shall consume with the spirite of hys mouth, and shall destroye wt the aperaunce of hys commynge.

⁸ As Iannes and Iambres withstode Moyses, euen so do these resiste the trueth, men they are of corrupte myndes, and lewde, as concernyng the fayth, ⁹ but they shall preuayle no longer. For theyr madnes shalbe vttered vnto all men as theyrs was.

³ And I will geue power vnto my .ij. witnesses, & they shal prophesy .M.ij.C. & .lx. daies, cloteth in sacke cloth. ⁴ These are two olyue trees, and two candelstickes, standyng before the God of the earth. ⁵ And yf any man wyl hurte them, fire shal proceade out of theyr mouthes, and consume theyr enemyes. And yf anye man wyll hurte them this wyse muste he be killed. ⁶ These haue power to shut heauen, that it rayne not in the daies of they: Prophesiyng, and haue power ouer waters to turne them to bloud, and to smyte the earth wyth al maner plages, as often as they will. ⁷ And when they haue fynished theyr testymonye, the beast that came out of the bottomlesse pyt, shal make warre agaynst them, and shal ouercome them, and kyl them. ⁸ And theyr bodies shal lye in the stretes of the great city, whiche spyrytually is called Sodome and Egypte, where oure Lorde was crucyfyed. ⁹ And they of the people and kynredes, and tonges, and they of the nacyons, shal se theyr bodyes thre dayes and an halfe, and shall not suffer theyr bodies to be put in graues. ¹⁰ And they that dwell vpon the earth, shall reioyse ouer them and be glad, and shal sende gyftes one to another for these two prophetes vexed them that dwelt on the earth. ¹¹ And after .iij. dayes and an halfe the spyryte of lyfe from God, entred into them. And they stode vp vpon theyr fete, and great feare came vpon them, whiche sawe them.

¹⁴ And to the woman were geuen two winges of a greate egle, that she might flye into the wildernes, into her place, where she is noryshed for a tyme, tymes, & halfe a time from the presence of the serpente. ¹⁵ And the dragon cast out of his mouth water after the woman as it had bene a riuer, because she should haue be caught of the floud. ¹⁶ And the earth holpe the woman, & the earth opened her mouth, and swalowed vp the ryuer which the dragon cast out of his mouth. ¹⁷ And the dragon was wroth wyth the woman, and went and made warre wyth the remnaunt of her seede, whiche kepe the commaundementes of God, and haue the testimonye of Iesus Christe. And I stode on the sea sande.
