¹² The ryghtuous enfourmeth the house of the vngodlye, but the vngodlye goo on styll after their owne wyckednesse.

²⁹ But yet when God destroyed the cyties of the region, he thought vpon Abraham: & sent Lot out from the danger of the ouerthrowinge, when he ouerthrewe the cyties where Lot dwelled.

³ I haue sene my selfe, when the folishe was depe roted, that hys bewty was sodenly destroied,

¹⁵ He leaneth hym vpon hys house, but he shal not stande: he holdeth hym fast by it, yet shall he not endure.

¹⁴ All his comforte & hope shalbe roted out of his dwellynge, very fearfulnesse shall bringe hym to the kynge. ¹⁵ Other men shall dwell in his house (which now is none of his) and brymstone shalbe scatered vpon his habitacion. ¹⁶ Hys rotes shalbe dryed vp beneth, and aboue shall his haruest be cutt downe. ¹⁷ Hys remembraunce shall perish from the earth, & hys name shall not be praysed in the stretes: ¹⁸ he shalbe dryuen from the lyght into darcknesse, and be cast cleane out of the world. ¹⁹ He shall nether haue chyldren nor kynsfolckes amonge his people, no, ner eny posterite in his countre: ²⁰ yonng & olde shalbe astonished at his death. ²¹ Soche are now the dwellynges of the wycked, and this the place of him that knoweth not God.

²⁸ For ye saye: where is the Princes palace? where is the dwellinge of the vngodly? ²⁹ Aske any man that goeth by the way, and (yf ye wyll not regarde their tokens and dedes) he shal tel you, ³⁰ that the wicked is kept vnto the daye of destruccion, and that the vngodly shalbe broughte forthe in the daye of wrath.

¹³ saying: This is the porcion that the wicked shall haue of God, and the heretage that Tirauntes shall receyue of the almighty. ¹⁴ Yf he get many chyldren, they shal perishe with the swearde, and hys posterite, shal haue scarcenesse of bread. ¹⁵ Loke whom he leaueth behind him, they shall dye & be buried, and no man shall haue pite of hys wyddowes. ¹⁶ Though he haue as muche money as the dust of the earthe, and raymente as ready as the claie, ¹⁷ he maye wel prepare it: but the godly shall put it vpon him, & the innocent shall deale oute the money. ¹⁸ His house shall endure as the moth, and as a bothe that the watcheman maketh. ¹⁹ When the ryche man dyeth, he caried nothing with him: he is gone in the twinckelynge of an eye. ²⁰ Destruccyon taketh holde vpon him as a water floud, and the tempest stealeth hym awaie in the nyghte season. ²¹ A vehemente wynde caried him hence and departeth: a storme plucketh hym oute of his place. ²² It russheth in vpon hym, and spareth him not, he maye not escape from the power thereof. ²³ Then clappe men their handes at him, yea and yeast of him, when they loke vpon his place.

³⁵ I my selfe haue sene the vngodly in great power, & florishinge lyke a grene baye tree: ³⁶ but when I went by, lo, he was gone: I sought hym, but he coulde no where be founde.

⁵ Therfore shall God cleane destroye the, smyte the in peces, pluke the out of thy dwellynge, and rote the out of the lande of the lyuynge. Selah.

⁴³ Who so is wyse, & pondreth these thynges well, shal vnderstande the louyng kyndnesses of the Lorde.

³ The innocente dealyng of the iust shal leade them, but the vnfaithfulnesse of the despisers shalbe their owne destruccion ⁴ Riches helpe not in the day of vengeaunce, but rightuousnes deliuereth from death. ⁵ The rightuousnes of the innocent ordereth his way, but the vngodly shall fall in his owne wyckednesse.

⁶ Ryghtuousnesse kepeth the innocente in the waye, but vngodlynesse shal ouerthrow the sinner.

¹¹ The houses of the vngodly shalbe ouerthrowne, but the tabernacles of the rightuous shal florish.

³² The vngodlye is afrayed of euery parel, but the ryghtuous hath a good hope euen in death.

⁹ Who so is wyse, shall vnderstande thys: & he that is ryght instructe, wyll regarde it. For the wayes of the Lorde are ryghteous, suche as be Godlye wil walcke in them: As for the wicked, they wyll stomble therin.

¹¹ Some of you haue I ouerthrowen, as I ouerthrew Sodome and Gomorre, so that ye were as brand plucte oute of the fyre. Yet wyll ye not turne vnto me, sayeth the Lorde.

⁹ Wo vnto hym, that couetouslye gathereth euyll gotten goodes into hys house: that he maye set hys neste an hye, to escape from the power of mysfortune. ¹⁰ Thou hast deuysed the shame of thyne owne house, for thou haste slayne to muche people, and hast wylfully offended, ¹¹ so that the very stones of the wall shall crye oute of it, and the tymbre that lyeth betwixte the ioyntes of the buyldynge shal aunswere. ¹² Wo vnto hym, that buyldeth the towne wyth bloude, & maintaineth the citie wyth vnryghtuousnes.

⁵ But in manie of them had God no delite. For they were ouerthrowen in the wyldernes.

⁴ For yf God spared not the aungels that sinned but cast them downe into hell, and deliuered them into chayns of darckenes, to be kept vnto iudgement, ⁵ neyther spared the olde worlde, but saued Noe the ryght preacher of rightuousnes, and brought in the floud vpon the worlde of the vngodly, ⁶ and turned the cyties of Sodom and Gomor into ashes, ouerthrowe them, dampned them, and made on them an ensample vnto all that after shoulde lyue vngodly. ⁷ And iust Lot vexed with the vnclenly conuersacyon of the wicked, deliuered he. ⁸ For he beinge rightuouse and dwellinge amonge them, in seinge and hearinge, vexed his rightuouse soule from daye to daye wyth theyr vnlawfull dedes. ⁹ The Lorde knoweth howe to deliuer the Godlye out of temptacion, and howe to reserue the vniuste vnto the daye of iudgement for to be punyshed,

⁶ by the which thinges, the worlde that then was, perished ouer flowen with the water. ⁷ But the heauens verely and earth, which are now are kept by the same worde in store, and reserued vnto fyre, agaynste the daye of iudgemente, and perdycyon of vngodlye men.
