² And Esdras the prieste broughte the lawe before the congregacyon bothe of men and wemen, and of all that coulde vnderstande it, vpon the fyrste daye of the seuenthe moneth,

²⁴ speake vnto the chyldren of Israel and saye. The fyrst daye of the seuenth moneth shalbe a reast of rembraunce vnto you, to blowe hornes in an holy feast it shalbe,

¹ And the fyrst day of the .vij. moneth shalbe an holy feast vnto you and ye shall do no laboryous worke therin. It shalbe a day of trompet blowyng vnto you.

¹⁸ And when he is sett vpon the seate of hys kyngedome, he shal write hym oute thys seconde lawe in a boke takynge a copye of the priestes the Leuites.

⁹ And Moses wrote thys lawe and deliuered it to the priestes the sonnes of Leui whyche bare the arcke of the testament of the Lorde and vnto all the elders of Israell, ¹⁰ and commaunded them saying. At the ende of .vij. yere, in the time of the fre yere, in the feast of the tabernacles, ¹¹ when all Israell is come to appeare before the Lord thy god, in the place which he hath chosen: se that thou read thys lawe before al Israel in theyr eares. ¹² Gather the people togyther: both men, women, and children, & the straungers that are in thi cityes that they may heare, learne, & fear the Lord your God, & be diligent to kepe al the words of thys lawe, ¹³ and that theyr children whyche knowe nothyng may heare & learne to feare the Lorde your God, as longe as ye lyue in the Lande whyther ye goo ouer Iordan to possesse it.

⁷ And the thirde yeare of hys raigne he sent of his Lordes: Benhail, Abdiah, Zachariah, Nathanael and Michaah to teache in the cyties of Iuda: ⁸ and with them, Semeiah, Nathaniah, Zabadiah, Asahel. Semiramoth, Iehonathan, Adoniah, Thobiah, and Thobodoniah Leuites: and with them Elisama & Ioram priestes. ⁹ And they taught in Iuda, and had the boke of the law with them, & went aboute thorowout all the cytyes of Iuda and taught the people.

⁹ What is he amonge them, that can teache, instructe or enfourme the chyldren, whiche are wened from sucke or taken from the brestes: of anye other fashyon then:

⁷ For the priestes lippes should be sure knowledge, that men may seke the lawe at his mouth: for he is a messaunger of the lorde of hostes.

²¹ For Moses of olde tyme hath in euerye cytie that preache hym, and he is reade in the synagoges euerye saboth daye.
