¹ And there arose a greate complaynte of the people, and of theyr wyues agaynst their brethren the Iewes.

⁷ Then the Lorde sayed: I haue surelye sene the trouble of mi people which ar in Egipt, and haue heard their cry whyche they haue of their taskemasters. For I know theyr sorow,

²⁵ If thou lende money to any of my people that is poore by the, thou shalte not be as an vsurer vnto him, nether shalt oppresse him wt vsurye. ²⁶ If thou take thy neyghboures rayment to pledge, that thou delyuer it vnto him agayne by that the sunne go downe. ²⁷ For that is hys couerlet onely: euen the raymente for his skynne wherein he slepeth: or els he wyll crye vnto me and I wyl heare him, for I am mercyfull.

³⁵ If thy brother be waxed pore and fallen in decay with the, receiue him as a straunger or a soiourner, & let him lyue by th ³⁶ And thou shalt take none vsurye of hym, nor yet vantage. But shalt feare thy God, that thy brother maye lyue wt the. ³⁷ Thou shalt not lend him thy money vpon vserye, nor lende hym of thy foode to haue aduantage bi it:

⁷ When one of thy brethren among you is waxed poore in any of thy cityes within thy land whych the Lord thy God geueth the, se that thou harden not thyne hert nor shet to thine hand from thy poore brother: ⁸ But open thyne hand vnto him & lende hym suffitiente for hys nede whych he hath. ⁹ And beware that there be not a poynt of Belial in thine hert, that thou wouldest say. The seuenth yere, the yere of fredome is at hand, & therfore it greues the to loke on thy poore brother and geuest hym nought & he then cry vnto the Lord againste the, and it be synne vnto the: ¹⁰ But giue him & let it not greue thine herte to giue. Bycause that for that thinge, the Lorde thy God shall blesse the in all thy workes & in all that thou puttest thyne hand to. ¹¹ For the land shall neuer be wythout pore. Wherfore I commaund the saying: open thine hand vnto thy brother that is neady and pore in thy land.

³⁸ But yf case be that my lande crye againste me, or that the forowes therof make any complainte: ³⁹ yf I haue eaten the frutes therof vnpaied for, yea yf I haue greued any of the plow men:

²⁸ In so muche that they haue caused the voyce of the poore to come vnto hym, and nowe he heareth the complaynte of suche as are in necessite.

⁷ As for the vyneyarde of the Lorde of Hostes it is the house of Israel, & whole Iuda hys fayre plantynge. Of these he loked for equyte, but se there is wronge: for rightuousnesse, lo, It is but miserye.

⁷ And shall not God aduenge his electe, which crye daye and nyghte vnto hym, ye though he defarre them?

²⁶ And the nexte daye he shewed hym selfe vnto them as they stroue, and woulde haue set them at one againe saiyng: Syrs, ye are brethren, why hurte ye one another?

⁶ but one brother goeth to lawe with another, and that vnder the vnbeleuers? ⁷ Nowe therfore, there is vtterlye a faute amonge you, because ye go to law one wyth another. Why rather suffer ye not wronge? Why rather suffre ye not youre selues to be robbed? ⁸ naye, ye youre selues do wronge, and robbe: and that the brethren.

⁴ Beholde the hyre of the labourers which haue reped doun your fieldes (which hyer is of you kept backe by fraude) crieth: & the cryes of them whiche haue reped, are entred into the eares of the Lorde Sabaoth
