⁴⁰ In these two commaundementes hange all the lawe & the Prophetes.

¹² Therfore whatsoeuer ye woulde that men shoulde do to you, euen so do ye to them. Thys is the lawe and the Prophetes.

¹⁷ For the lawe was geuen by Moyses, but grace and truthe came by Iesus Christ.

¹⁹ Yea and we knowe that whatsoeuer the law sayeth, he saith it to them which are vnder the lawe. That all mouthes maye be stopped, and all the world be subdued to God, ²⁰ because that by the dedes of the lawe, shall no fleshe be iustifyed in the syght of God. For by the lawe commeth the knoweledge of synne. ²¹ Nowe verelye is the ryghteousnes that commeth of God, declared withoute the fulfyllynge of lawe, hauynge wytnes yet of the lawe and of the Prophetes.

⁹ For these commaundementes Thou shalte not commyt aduoutrye: Thou shalte not kyll: Thou shalt not steale: Thou shalte not beare false wytnesse: Thou shalte not desyre: and so forth (yf there be anye other commaundente) they are all comprehended in thys saiynge: Loue thyne neyghboure as thy selfe.

⁵ for the ende of the commaundement is loue that commeth of a pure hert, & of a good conscience, and of fayth vnfayned:

⁸ Yf ye fulfyll the royall lawe accordynge to the scripture whiche sayeth. Thou shalte loue thyne neyghboure as thy self, ye do wel.

⁷ Beloued, let vs loue one another, for loue commeth of god. And euery one that loueth is borne of God, & knoweth God. ⁸ He that loueth not, knoweth not God: for God is loue. ⁹ In this appered the loue of God to vsward, because that God sent his onely begotten sonne into the world, that we myght lyue thorow him: ¹⁰ Herin is loue, not that we loued God, but that he loued vs, & sente his sonne to make agrement for our synnes. ¹¹ Beloued yf God so loued vs we oughte also to loue one another.

¹⁹ We loue him, for he loued vs fyrste. ²⁰ Yf a man saye, I loue God, and yet hate his brother, he is a lyar. For howe can he that loueth not his brother whom he hath sene, loue god, whom he hath not sene? ²¹ And this commaundemente haue we of him that he which loueth God, should loue his brother also.
