¹⁰ This is my testament which ye shal kepe betwene me & you and thy seed after the, that ye cyrcumcyse all youre men chyldren.

¹⁹ Then sayd God: Sara thy wyfe shal bere the a sonne in dede & thou shalt cal his name Isaac. And I wyll make my bond with him, that it shalbe an euerlasting bond vnto hys seed after him.

¹⁴ is the thyng to harde for the Lorde to do? In the tyme appoynted wyll I returne vnto the, as sone as the frute can haue lyfe, and Sara shall haue a sonne.

²¹ And Isaac made intercession vnto the Lord for his wife, bicause she was barren: and the Lord was entreated of hym, & Rebecca hys wyfe conceyued:

²³ And the Lorde sayde vnto him: peace be with the & feare not, for thou shalte not dye.

³ And the Angel of the Lord apeared vnto his wyfe and sayd vnto her: Behold, thou art barren and bearest not: But thou shalt conceyue and beare a sonne. ⁴ And nowe beware, and dryncke no wyne, nor stronge drincke, neither eate any vncleane thinge: ⁵ for se, thou shalt conceiue and beare a sonne. And there maye no rasor or sherers come on his head: For the lad shalbe an abstayner vnto God, euen from the tyme of his byrth. And he shal begynne to delyuer Israel out of the handes of the Phylystynes.

²⁰ And in processe of tyme she couceyued and bare a sonne, & called hys name Samuel: because she had asked hym of the Lord. ²¹ And Elkanah and all hys house went vp to offer vnto the Lorde, bothe the offerynges due for the feaste and also his vowes: ²² but Hannah went not vp for she sayde vnto her husbande: I wyl tarye vntyll the ladde be wened, & then I wil bring hym, that he maye apeare before the Lorde, & there abide for euer. ²³ And Elkanah her husband sayde to her: do what semith the best: tary vntyll thou hast wened hym, onelye the Lorde make good his saying. And so the woman abode, and gaue her sonne sucke, vntyll she wened hym.

²¹ And the Lorde visited Hannah so that she conceyued and bare thre sonnes & two doughters But the boye Samuel grewe dwellynge styll with the Lorde.

¹⁶ Then he sayde: by suche a tyme, as sone as the frute can lyue, thou shalt embrace a sonne, and she sayde: Oh naye my Lorde thou man of God, do not lye vnto thyne handmayde. ¹⁷ And the wyfe conceyued and bare a sonne that same ceason that Elizeus had said vnto her, as sone as the frute coulde haue lyfe.

⁹ Whyche maketh the baren woman to kepe house, and to be a ioyfull mothere of chyldren. Prayse the euerlastyng.

²¹ I thancke, the that thou hast herd me, and are become my saluatyon.

³ Lo, chyldren & the frute of the wombe are an heritage & gift, that commeth of the Lorde. ⁴ Lyke as the arrowes in the hande of the gyaunt, euen so are the yonge chyldren. ⁵ Happy is the man, that hathe his quyuerful of them: they shal not be ashamed, when they speake with their enemyes in the gate.

³ After that went I vnto the Prophetisse, that nowe had conceiued and borne a sonne. Then sayde the Lorde to me: geue him this name: Maherschalal haschbas (that is, a spedie robber: an hastie spoyler.)

¹² Then he sayd vnto me: feare not Daniel: for why sence the fyrst day that thou set thyne herte to vnderstande, and diddest chasten thy selfe before thy God: thy wordes haue bene hearde. And I had come vnto the, when thou begannest to speake

⁴ And the Lorde sayde vnto him: call his name Iesraell, for I wyll shortly auenge the bloude of Iesrael, vpon the house of Iehu, and wyll brynge the kingedome of the house of Israel to an ende.

⁶ She conceyued yet again, and bare a doughter. And he sayde vnto him: Call her name Loruhamah (that is, not obtayninge mercy) for I wyl haue no pyte vpon the house of Israell, but forget them, and put them cleane oute of remembraunce.

⁹ Then sayd he: cal his name Lo amy. For why? ye are not my people, therfore wyll I not be youres. ¹⁰ And thoughe the nombre of the chyldren of Israel be as the sand of the sea, which can neyther be measured nor tolde: yet in the place where it is sayde vnto them, ye be not my people, euen there shal it be thus reported of them: they be the chyldren of the lyuynge God.

²¹ She shall bryngforth a sonne, & thou shalt cal his name Iesus. For he shal saue his people from their sins.

²⁷ And straight way Iesus spake vnto them saing be of good cheare, it is I, be not afrayed.

⁵ The aungel aunswered & sayd to the women: feare ye not. I knowe that ye seke Iesus, whiche was crucifyed:

⁶ And he sayed vnto them, be not afrayed: ye seke Iesus of Nazareth whiche was crucifyed. He is rysen, he is not here. Beholde the place where they put hym.

³⁰ And the aungell sayed vnto her: feare not Mary: for thou haste founde grace wyth God.

⁶⁰ How be it his mother aunswered, and sayde: not so, but he shalbe called Ihon. ⁶¹ And they saide vnto her: There is none of thy kinne that is named with this name. ⁶² And they made sygnes to his father: howe he woulde haue him called. ⁶³ And he axeth for writtyng tables, and wrote sayinge: his name is Ihon. And they maruayled al.

²¹ And when the eyght daye was come, that the chylde shoulde be circuncysed, his name was called Iesus, which was named of the aungell before he was conceyued in the wombe.

³⁶ As they thus spake. Iesus him selfe stode in the middes of them, and saide: Peace be with you. ³⁷ And thei were abashed and afraied, supposynge that they had sene a spirite. ³⁸ And he sayde vnto them: Why are ye troubled, and why do thoughtes aryse in your hertes? ³⁹ Beholde my handes and & my fete, that it is euen my selfe. Handle me & se: for spyrytes haue not flesh and bones as ye se me haue. ⁴⁰ And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his handes and his fete.

³¹ and sayd: Cornelius, thy prayer is hearde, and thine almes deades are had in remembraunce in the sight of God.
